Lisa's 50th - A Month Long Celebration Begins!!!

Do you ever have one of those things stuck in your brain that you are SOOOO sure is right - and then you find out you're WRONG when it's too late!?!?!?! Well that's what I did with my gorgeous friend Lisa's Birthday! Lisa and I have never met - except through the keyboard of our computers and blogs - but she has become a dear friend is such a short time! And she "let" it slip that this year she has a milestone birthday coming up. I popped on facebook and checked out the date - and then remembered it ALL WRONG!!! I sent this to Lisa to arrive for the end of October - unfortunately her birthday isn't for another month - OOOPS!!! I did email her as soon as I realised to tell her to put her Aussie arrival away when it got there but I was tooo late!!!
Lisa has graciously forgiven me and tells me she now has an excuse to start her birthday celebrations early - you go girl!!!
I made this card for her and was then told by my kids that it was too young for a 50 year old - I tried to explain that being 50 didn't mean you couldn't be full of youthful fun and sent it anyway!!! Luckily Lisa loved it so I'm glad I didn't listen to the kids!!!
I've used another gorgeous Mo Manning image and coloured her in blues and yellows - such a fresh colour combo! I've sparkled her wings up as well as popping some glitter on the petals of the largest flower and the sentiment - it looks soo sparkly IRL - just like Lisa!! Some Cuttlebugged "bubbles" for the background, the number 50 and the yellow sizzix swirls and she was ready to send off!!!
Now to remember to wish Lisa a Happy 50th on the RIGHT day - LOL - but in the meantime...
Happy start to your 50th birthday celebrations Lisa!!!!
xXx

Debbie! Tell your kids that you're never to old for the birthday fairy!!! What a fab card! I wouldn't mind getting that card for my 90th birthday:)) (Not that I'm anywhere near that yet) lol. I've got the big 60 coming up next year.

Debbie, you are so funny and so sweet. I'm sure she loved getting a little something early (especially on a milestone) - its a great excuse to make the fun last. I love the card, the colours are simply gorgeous.

Hi Debs,
Love the card. I wonder if S & T will feel the same way when they approach 50, I know I don't. I hope they won't either, it would be too sad LOL.
Give them a big hug from me...I know how much Toby loves that ;) hee hee hee.

Another wonderful Mo image and WOW, I love what you did with it. Colors are so nice. Your coloring of the fairy...stunning. Love the sparkle too. Better early and now she has longer to display and enjoy it. I'll have to remember to let it slip when I'm having my birthday........

This is beautiful. I don't think you HAVE to have a more refined "old people" image for birthday cards!! Besides, 50 isn't old at all!! Wonderful card, it speaks to those who are young at heart and good for you getting the party started a little early, lol!!
Have a great week!!

And I DO LOVE this beautiful card... one I shall keep for always and smile every time I see. And since I believe in fairies, I never thought for a moment it was too young for me! You're only as old or young as you feel, and I feel pretty young. It's my body that's having a hard transition. LOL

Truly, Debbie, I'm overwhelmed by all the kind things you've said about me and the lovely card and goodies inside, and I can't believe my good fortune to have a friend such as you.

Love and hugs across the many miles. Someday we SHALL meet in person, I just know it!

Lovely card Debbie... just so elegant, soft and very cheery for Lisa's 50th!! Such a lucky gal to receive one of your fabulous master pieces... :)

We'll have to REMIND her of her "MILE STONE" birthday at the end of November... Tee! That wouldn't be rubbing it in much, would it?

Smiles... Michelle :)

That image is too cute, I think I might venture into digital stamps.
I love this card for someon turning 50, it's fun to be silly and let your hair down and not act your age and this card would remind you to do that!
I recently took my kids trick or treating on Pakington St Geelong and decided that I would dress up as well...why should they have all the fun. All of the kids and adults loved it, I was dressed as a witch with this fantastic red curly wig and long crooked nose and the kids couldn't stop looking at my nose. I'll see if I can find some photos and post them on my blog.

Paula :)
