It's Easter in La La Land

This week in La La Land we are celebrating Easter/Spring. Since it's now Autumn in Australia I went with the Easter part of the theme and cut an Easter egg shaped card with my Cameo. I then coloured up Marci and chose the colours of the embellishments to co-ordinate with her bunny suit and egg.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #189 - Easter Greetings

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we are celebrating Easter - for the second week in a row - so hopefully we'll get everyone up to date on their Easter projects - LOL.

I started off with a basket I cut using my Cameo and then decorated it with an older Easter Tilda with Bunny. I love to see the older images come out to play so thought it was only right that I use them too. Add a few flowers and die cuts and all it needs now is filling with Easter eggs - YUM!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the FABULOUS inspiration from my team-mates over on our BLOG.

Time to Play With Altered Art/3D in La La Land

This week in La La Land we are playing with altered art and/or 3D projects. I've done a mix of the two by using the La La Land Carousel SVG file and altering it to be a Garden Gazebo. I've used the carousel before for something other than a carousel when I turned it into a stage for Ballerina Marci (here) - so it's pretty versatile. I've also used quite a few of the La La Land dies to build my garden scene - I love my dies!!!

La La Land Celebrates St.Patrick's Day

This week in La La Land we are celebrating St.Patrick's Day. I used a green four leaf clover overlay I cut with my Cameo and laid it over some Kaiser DP. I added a few elements from the Kaiser DP paper pad to my card as well as some shamrock green bling and B&W twine. I felt the top right corner was looking a little bare so I used my black liner pen to outline one of the 4 leaf clovers. Since I gave Luka red hair I figured he needed some freckles too - don't they look cute!

HAPPY ST.PATRICK'S DAY
to all my followers who have a bit of Irish in them - or those that just enjoy the excuse for a party.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #187

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges it's ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US

WOW I can't believe Magnolia Down Under has been going for FOUR YEARS now and I have been there since the very beginning! We've had some AWESOME ladies join us in our DT over the years - talented card makers and fabulous people - many of whom I consider good friends. The superb quality of the entries always amazes me too!

I had a little play with my background on this card. I stamped Tilda onto my blending card and then used my spellbinders nestie to cut her out. I used the embossing line to give me a border for my colouring and coloured in the background first. I then added some texture using some gauze and colourless blender before splashing on some more colourless blender to create the spots. Once the background had dried off properly I coloured Tilda in. Some stardust stickles add a magical touch to the stars coming off Tilda's wand.

Check out our BLOG to see the amazing inspiration from our fabulous DT and come and join us to help us celebrate.

A Spa Day for a Special Lady

This week at La La Land we are creating something for a "Special Lady". Personally I can't think of anything better than being pampered on a spa day- just in case anyone wants to know - LOL.

As you can see I've scored my cardstock and then embossed over it with clear embossing powder so it looks like tiling. I've also used rich colours to add to the decadence of a day out.
I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to cut out my image. This is the first time I've done this and it was sooo easy - although I think I'll set my margins a little smaller next time!

Using Pastels in La La Land

This week in La La Land we are using pastels. Although I love the look of pastels I must admit I usually work with stronger colours and found it hard to stop myself from adding some deeper tonings. Once again I had fun playing with the LLLC dies - it's so much fun to see how many ways I can use them.
