Urban Scenes Blog Hop with Make it Crafty and Whimsy Stamps

Whimsy Stamps & Make it Crafty have come together to create a fun Urban Themed digi collection!

Ann Vento has whipped up her magic and designed an incredible collection of
funky wall sayings, city landscapes and of course a range of super cool street signs.

Make it Crafty is trying something new offering all the different elements for you to build your own urban backdrop.

Then of course, what better characters to incorporate into such a scene than the fabulous KennyK rubber stamps available from Whimsy Stamps!

Our incredibly talented Design Teams have had a blast playing with all the different elements to bring you LOTS of inspiration!

We have broken it in to TWO HOPS
HOP A Starts Here & HOP B Starts HERE!

There will be a winner for EACH HOP and if you hop your way through BOTH, you’ll go in the draw for the GRAND PRIZE TOO!

HOP A & B Winners will each receive a $15 voucher from both Whimsy Stamps and Make it Crafty

GRAND WINNER will win our full Urban Digital Collection
4 Digi Sentiment sets by Ann Vento & the Urban Elements Collection from Make it Crafty

You are currently on HOP B and should have arrived from Cheryl's Blog

For my scene I have merged FIVE different Make it Crafty images to create my backdrop. For my sentiment I used two Whimsy Stamps Party Time street signs and then I popped Kenny K's Troublemaker onto the scene. I have used a fabulous tutorial by Mariska to make my Kenny K image into a 3D image - she's made up of 5 different layers and it adds an amazing depth IRL.

Your next stop on HOP B is Pattie's Blog, but before you go make sure you leave a comment below!

You have until August 21st 8PM Australian QLD time to make your way through the hops!

Be there... or be square! J

Guest Designing for Kenny K

I was rapt when I got asked to fill a GDT spot over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenges. I have loved Kenny K's images since they first hit the stamping world and just wish I had more time to work with the ones I have already. But one day....

This week the challenge is "Red, White and Blue" and I've used Brooklyn Babe for my card - isn't she just FABULOUS! You can check out what the rest of the Kenny K DT have come up with and check out all the rest of the challenge details on their blog.

A 21st Card

I have been lucky to find friends in my life who's children also get on well with my own - it makes it so much easier to plan get togethers - LOL. This card was made for one of my BFs daughters to celebrate her 21st birthday recently.

Here in Australia ice hockey isn't a huge sport - in fact until recently the city of Melbourne only had one undersized ice rink for the whole population!! But Jacinta (birthday girl) fell in love with figure skating in her early teens and then progressed to ice hockey. So it seemed only fitting to make her 21st card in her team colours using this fabuous Kenny K image - GO PIRATES!

Something For Fun!

I'm having a WONDERFUL time with my DT work but I do miss playing along with challenges - "just because" - but today I managed to get a card done for fun - and because my daughter told me I HAD to get some of Kenny K's images - LOL.

This week is the first week for Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenges and they are asking us to use pastels! I used this cutie called Uptown Angel. These images are just gorgeous to colour! It's a bit hard to see but there are stickles around the edges of the main image and the sentiment - and on the tips of the flowers - so it sparkles fabulously in the light. I've also used my gold spica pen on her ear-rings, wristband buckles and belt - just to add to the sparkle.

I look forward to playing with more of these cuties soon!
