Hearts a Flutter in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are getting your Hearts a Fluttering by using hearts and/or butterflies. I took the opportunity to use one of  La-La Lands fabulous shadow box frame kits and dressed it up with papers, copics, die cuts and white paint. These are so much fun to put together and decorate! And who better for this challenge that the Queen of Hearts herself!

A Simply Betty Sympathy Card

There are unfortunately those times in life when one must make a sympathy card and this week it was my turn. My husband's colleague recently lost her father and my hubby said he would get me to make a card for the team to sign. A while ago Corinne had made a sympathy card using one of the Simply Betty images and this is where the inspiration came for mine. I'm not sure if it's the same image - I tried to find Corinne's to link back but she's a prolific crafter and her version is somewhere among all of her other gorgeous work.

My husband wasn't too sure about this card though so I had to make a more traditional floral one for him - ah well. I just hope that this one gets put away for a long long time!

Time to Fence it In in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we have to "Fence it in" - use a fence. With the gorgeous fence dies available at La-La Land Crafts my biggest decision was which one to go with - LOL. A little Wonderland scene ended up appearing on my desk - although I do confess my original project was binned after several hours of trying to get it to work! Luckily that doesn't happen to me often but it does happen ;)

It's Pinspiration Inspiration This Week in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are creating using the photo from Pinterest on the left as the Inspiration. I also took the opportunity to create a card using one of my team-mates tutorials for La-La Land's Tutorial Thursday - you can check out Anne-Maree's pop up card tutorial HERE. It was a lot of fun to try something different but I think I embellished the base a little to much for the card to close properly - oops - I just never know when to stop!!!!

Magnolia Challenge #231 and Some Sad News

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we have a VERY SPECIAL celebration happening - it's our 5TH BIRTHDAY so our challenge is....

BIRTHDAYS

Wow - who knew when my friend Kellie started this challenge with myself and Kristy on board that we would still be going 5 years later!!!! I am SOOO proud of what we have managed to achieve and the DT gals have become family as well as friends :)

With that being said today is also a sad time for me as I have decided after 5 years to step down from the challenge team. The gorgeous DT gals have kept me going for longer than I probably should have - but unfortunately I feel it's time for a change.

Don't forget to pop on over and check out the AMAZING DT inspiration on our BLOG - and PLEASE make sure you keep supporting the girls and this amazing challenge.

One Layer in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we have a challenge that caused a lot of discussion behind the scenes but has led to some very creative interpretations. Our challenge is....

One Layer with the Option of Luck (for St.Patrick's Day)

I decided to create a digital layout using digital designer papers and the digital version of my image. It's a bit hard to see here but these digi papers are designed for St.Patrick's Day with 4 leaf clovers stylized into the designs. I added borders to the papers and layered them up before adding Marci into the design and printing it all out. Then it was time to colour. Amazing how much detail you can achieve with one layer!!! I was going to add some digital embellishments too but they just didn't look right to me! I always love a bit of texture though, so I distressed the edges of my finished card front and added a cheeky die-cut, rhinestones and chipboard sentiment!

It's Party Time in La-La land

This week in La-La Land we are celebrating parties. I've used to gorgeous new Pinata Luka and popped him onto one of the La-La land digital papers before colouring. I tried to give the pinata a bit of texture to represent the paper fringing usually found on pinatas.

Don't forget to pop over to our BLOG where you can check out inspiration from my amazing teamies and remember La La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La La Land Stamps and Dies too.

Aurora Wings Meets Scrapmatts

Last weekend I had the honour of helping out at the Scrapmatts stand at the Scrapbook and Papercrafting Expo here in Melbourne. Scrapmatts is an Aussie company - gotta love that - and they design and cut gorgeous chipboard pieces. This is the small layered fob watch - there's a bigger version for scrapbooking with too! I decided this would look awesome with one of Mitzi's Aurora Wings designs inset into the middle. I used the clock hands at the top of the floral spray on the right - nothing gets wasted ;)

This gorgeous image is called Sisterhood and is currently available as a FREEBIE for followers of the NEW Aurora Wings Challenge Blog - you can find out how under the "offers" tab - but be quick - it's a limited time offer!!!!

Hopefully this picture gives you some idea of the sparkle I have used on the image - my Sakura glitter gel pen was used over many of the areas - they look grey in the photo above and a little more shimmery in this photo but in real life they SPARKLE! It looks great with the addition of the lime green rhinestones too.....
