Snowball Fight by Mo Manning

This little cutie is Snowball Fight by Mo Manning. Sadly it's almost appropriate for the weather we've been having here in Melbourne lately! It may only be 2 weeks until our Summer starts, but there have been snow falls in the nearby hills and the weather has been pretty miserable for Spring! At least this little one is smiling and enjoying the snow!

I printed the image out on a digi paper background from Bearly Mine Designs - sadly they are no longer in business :( , but I do love using the papers I bought. I added some coloured lights and sparkle to the background too, just for some additional festive flair.

An Engagement Card for a Friend

A couple of weeks ago I had the great pleasure of helping a good friend's daughter celebrate her engagement. We had a truly wonderful evening with the happy couple, their families and friends.

Congratulations Nicole and Darren

This is the card I made for them - using an image from my stash from Spesch Stamps. The card was cut using my Cameo and you can find the shape in the Silhouette Store. The papers are digital papers from Bearly Mine Designs. It's so sad both Spesch Stamps and BMD are no longer available - but it was fun to use them again.

Spreading a Little Bit of Love from Tiddly Inks

Just a couple of days ago Christy Croll from Tiddly Inks Stamps offered this gorgeous little freebie on the TI Facebook Page, you can also get it instore HERE, it's called "Be Cool and Love Each Other Penguins". The idea behind it is to spread a little love in these troubling times - a sentiment I know we all wish would happen.

I printed them out onto some gorgeous digi paper - sadly this line has been retired with the closure of the Bearly Mine store but I just adore using the gorgeous designs. I also loved the different colours in the snowflakes and pulled them out to colour up the different penguins - something that helps to symbolise my belief of love conquering diversity, be it the colour of your skin, religion or political views.

I hope you like it

A Bit of Fun with Simply Betty Stamps

I don't often get a chance to play with images and things outside of my DT and other commitments so it was really nice to do something different for a change. This is Goblin Queen by Simply Betty Stamps. She was a snap freebie from the SBS Facebook Page and if you requested her you were asked to create a card within a few days. Sadly Betty has had people join the group just for the freebies and then leave again so she's had to close the group after each freebie is released until it's only available instore. I wanted to make sure I could honour the commitment if I took this cutie,

We were asked to do her up in either a light or a dark version - needless to say I went light. I printed her onto some gorgeous digi paper from bearly Mine Designs - unfortunately they have gone out of business due to the new VAT rules in the UK :( . I printed the same paper out again to use as my background. I love using this technique as I get a gorgeous background for my image and matching papers on my card.

Aurora Wings Challenge - A Touch of Darkness

There's a new monthly challenge starting over at Aurora Wings Challenges and it's......

I've used the STUNNING Secret Kiss (Dark Goth Mermaid with Skull) and printed her out onto some Bearly Mine Designs digital paper before colouring her in. I had meant to colour her up a little darker but some days my copics seem to have a mind of their own and she ended up in shades of gold and teal.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the AMAZING DT inspiration on our BLOG. We also have a very active Facebook Fan Group with additional contests, challenges and inspiration.  We hope to see you there.

It's All About Dad at Make it Crafty

This weekend we Aussies are celebrating Father's Day and Make it Crafty have brought a fun new line of Dad images out to celebrate - check them all out HERE. There are not only dads but kids and scenes to play with. I've mixed 3 of the images - Gamer Dad, Gamer Girl and Gamer Boy - but you can also get all 3 in a bundle HERE. These 3 represent my own family and I love seeing them all play together - although with my daughter living overseas it's something I miss.

I have merged the images onto 2 different patterned digi papers from Bearly Mine Designs. I butted them together to give the impression of wallpaper and a floor. I love doing this with my digis as it sets a scene before I even start to colour.

Happy Father's Day to ALL the dads out there - hope you have some fun with YOUR family :)

Special DT Showcase - Marie Antoinette by Aurora Wings

The Aurora Wings DT decided to have a special showcase using the gorgeous Marie Antoinette on the Aurora Wings Showcase Blog. You just HAVE to go over and see the amazing takes on this stunning image - from a Zombie version to classic pastels or rich, deep tones.

There is also an open call for designers for the showcase blog HERE if you want a chance to play with these incredible images.

For my version I printed her out onto some Bearly Mine Designs digi paper leaving the colouring area white. I reprinted the same paper on a larger scale for my card base too. This one has a gorgeous lace border detail so I had to make sure it was sized just right so I wouldn't have to cut any off. I've done this a lot lately and am loving the results.

Copics Used - Skin (E13, E11, E00, E000, R35, R20, R11) plus E89, E87, E84, E37, E35, E59, E30, G17, G14, R37, R35, R32, W5, W3, W2, W00, 100, Y19, Y13

Introducing Fearless Fairy Tales

I was very excited to be asked to help out with the introduction of a fabulous new line of stamps by Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I have used 2 of the six new images in the Fearless Fairy Tales range. For both of my cards I used a digi paper for the background and masked the image onto it leaving the colouring area white.

For my Little Mermaid card I also used the digi paper to cover a sheet of white card before printing it off and cutting a step fold card out of it. It ties everything together beautifully.

And here's my second card - Cinderella with a bit more attitude than we've come to know LOL.....

There is a whole group of us doing today's showcase - so use the inlink below to find the links for all of the amazing projects on offer. And check out the Little Miss Muffet Store, LMMS blog, and also the LMMS Gallery Blog for more amazing Little Miss Muffet inspiration.

I really wanted to make something for boys this time - so I headed for Make it Crafty's Urban Scene Digi's to get some inspiration for my shadow box. Digital Fun With Just INKlined

When I saw THIS card by my fellow Just INKlined DT member Joyce I was fascinated by the technique she had used - it was such a fabulous yet simple idea!

When you receive an image from Just INKlined it comes in 2 formats - jpeg and png. The jpeg is complately opaque but when you hold the mouse over the png image you will see some areas are blue and some areas may be white. IF they are blue that means that part of the image is transparent and can be overlaid on some digital DP and only the lines are visible - see left. GREAT for paper piecing.

In the case of the Big Cottage (available HERE) the background is transparent but the image isn't - so when you overlay it onto a digi DP you will get a coloured background but a white image to colour in - see left. I know Joyce used photoshop to achieve this effect but I'm glad this image was already set up to be used this way as I can't use photoshop at all - LOL.

I printed out my main image on a Bearly Mine Designs DP at a reasonable size as I wanted to use it as a backdrop for one of my Mini World Magnolias. I had already re-sized the DP to fit the front of my card so I wouldn't lose the stitching detail. These Just INKlined images are gorgeous on their own but also great to use this way. Tilda looks like she's setting off for a day of shopping down on High Street. A bit if ribbon and a few flowers was all it needed to finish off.

Hmmmm - think I'm in the mood for some retail therapy myself - or maybe just some window shopping today - LOL

Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop

It's that time of the month again when Mo's DT get together for a bit of fun! And this month we're adding a splash of colour, our blog hop theme is the Colour Turquoise and our host is Bea. If you're already hopping along you should have arrived here from Alice's Blog where I'm sure you were dazzled by some amazing eye candy - otherwise hop back to the start and check out Bea's gorgeous take on the theme. There are 2 x $5 Mo Manning shop credits hidden somewhere along the hop for 2 lucky commenters!

I've used one of my favourite fairies from Mo - the stunning Fairy Tabia - she's made several appearances here on my blog and you can find her HERE. She looks amazing in so many different colour schemes - but then what Mo image doesn't!??!?!

Your next stop on the hop is the ever amazing Mina's Blog. If you get lost along the way here's the full hop list for you and you'll find the links on my left sidebar under Mo's logo.

Bea, Heidy, Alice, Debbie{me}, Mina, Kerttu, Jak, Lori

Digi DP is from Bearly Mine Designs - Sentiment from The Craft's Meow

A Little Cutie From Mo

Isn't this little gal the cutest thing - with her hands over her face as she giggles away at a little secret we can only hope to share in. She is Cherry from Mo Manning and she is available HERE.

More often than not I colour my images up before I choose DPs, layout and embelishments - but I have been trying a few the other way around to see which I prefer. I think you can find yourself stuck in a habit when there is a easier option. The jury is still out on this one for me though - but when I have a gorgeous image that suits a specific DP then the colours can make or break the match. This is a digital DP from Bearly Mine Designs - and the cherries and daisies suited my little gal perfectly.

Playing With Digital Designer Papers

As many of you know I use a fair few digital images - but I've been a bit scared by the thought of digital papers. I LOVE the idea that I wouldn't run out of my favourite pattern - but the thought of spending MORE time going through computer files put me off - though I have used the odd one I keep forgetting they are there!!! Recently I started chatting with the lovely Donna Smith from Bearly Mine Designs. She designs some gorgeous papers and convinced me to try some out. She also has some FABULOUS freebies on offer on her blog if you want to give them a go yourself.

These beautiful soft toned papers are digital papers - and I LOVE that the lace edged set can be re-sized so I'm not chopping off the lace edges to fit my card! I am going to source a cheaper version of my printer ink and make a sample book with any left-over scraps to remind me what I have.

The image I've used is from Just INKlined and can be found HERE. It's meant to be a wedding purse but I think it would be perfect for Mother's Day too, or even a birthday card. You can't see it here but I've used my silver Spica pen over the swirls in the bag to add a little glamour! And look - I found some new flowers at the recent paper show - LOVE the lilies and carnations and none of my roses matched the ones on the bag - LOL!
