Magnolia Down Under Challenge #107

This week over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we have a fun "game" to craft to - we're asking you to use our "BINGO" board to choose your elements. You can choose them in any straight line be it vertical, horizontal or diagonal. As long as you have all three from your line you can also add anything else you like!
I've decided to go straight across the middle - ribbon, sparkles and chipboard. I've gone out of my comfort zone with this one and was inspired by this gorgeous chipboard tag that was sent to me by my fellow teamie Jane. The little fence is also chipboard so I've filled that element. The ribbon is fairly obvious hanging out the top of the tag - LOL. And I've used star dust stickles on Tilda's wings and the flowers for my sparkle. I'm thinking I'm going to print one of my favourite biscotti recipes and stick it onto the back of my tag and attach it to a plate of biscotti as a gift.

Don't forget to check out the rest of this week's amazing inspiration from the MDUC DT on our blog.

Make It Colourful - Colouring Dark Skin

This week at Make it Colourful we are experimenting with darker skin tones. Our fabulous sponsor is Crissy and I've used her cute "nose to nose" image and popped her into a little loungeroom scene using images from Make it Crafty. I chose this Basic Grey DP because it reminded me a little of my Grandma's wallpaper. Since it's Winter in my part of the world the roaring fire is something I'd love to be standing in front of right about now - LOL. The sentiment was computer generated and based on a poem I found.

For my skintones I've laid a base colour of G20 - yup a GREEN - something the MiC DT have been playing with recently! It seems to add a lovely warmth to the skintones. I folllowed up with E31, E34 and E35. The blush is R20 and I added a white gel pen "smudge" shine to her cheek.

Make It Colourful - Colour Your Own Embellishments

This week we have a really FUN challenge for you over at Make It Colourful - and you can go as simple or as crazy as you like with it - we're asking you to colour your own embellishments!

I've used one of the new Steampunk images from Make It Crafty - this is Annabelle and you can find her HERE. I've also coloured up some lasercut chipboard (ribbon slider and gears) from Make It Crafty using my black, white and gold inkpads. I also coloured the throats of some white daffodils with Copic refill ink in one of the colours I used on my image (E31). I bought these flowers from Hooked On Craft.

If you're looking for more inspiration you can't go past checking out what my teamies have come up with at our blog - and don't forget to give it a go yourself!

Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop

Hi everyone - don't you just LOVE the 3rd Thursday of the month??? I know I do because it's Mo's Dream Team blog hop time - and it's always a lot of fun to get together with the rest of the team for a play! And you guys get a chance to win one of 2 $5 vouchers for Mo's store - the winners will be randomly chosen from comments left along the way.

This month our gorgeous and talented hostess is Alice - and she's asked us to make an easel card! Alice's blog is the start of all the fun and I'm second on the list so you don't have too far to pop back if you've just popped in here for a visit!

The image I've used is one Mo gave out on her FB page and was used for a little competition she ran - but she's available now in Mo's store HERE. Her name is Trudy and she comes with her cute party dress - it has tabs so you could make her into a dress-up doll if you like. Being a digi means you can have a whole heap of fun though - so I enlarged the dress and printed it off onto some DP. I then used it as the backdrop for my easel card and ended up creating a card for a seamstress friend of mine. The fabulous lasercut chipboard pieces from Make it Crafty were a perfect embellishment and pulled everything together well.

I found a poem on the internet and used it for the base of my sentiment - just adjusting it slightly to suit my needs  - it reads.....

That needle poking to and fro
Means so much more than you may know
For each garment she makes from the start
Contains a small piece of her heart

Now it's time to keep on hop, hop, hopping and hop on over to the ever amazing Mina's blog. And remember there is always fabulous new inspiration for all over at our blog HERE.

Here's the full hop list if you get lost along the way - you'll find all the links on my left sidebar under Mo's logo....

On The Pot

This week Mo introduced some of the cutest 'toilet' images I've ever seen - LOL. I've used her "On The Pot" boy with curly hair for my card and you can find him HERE. It was a great chance to use darker skin tones as I tend to stay in my comfort zone of E11, E00 and E000. The darker tones I used here are E31, E33 and E35 in case you're interested. Apologies for the lighting on my picture - I had to use the daylight lamp instead of natural daylight!
I used this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday - twisting it to suit my image. I computer generated the sentiment - it soo reminded me of something my daughter said while I was toilet training her - not that she'd want to be reminded of it now she's 19 - LOL.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #105

This week over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we are asking you to "create a scene".

It's the dead of Winter here and I decided to warm myself up with a little Summery scene - what bliss to be sitting on the edge of a bridge with my feet dangling in the water and the sun shining on my back - heaven! So OK I'm not really into fishing but I'd happily handle the rest - LOL.

The little bridge is a colouring page I found on the internet - a perfect spot for Edwin and Tilda to while away some hours together.

And if you're after more fabulous inspiration check out what my teamies have come up with to inspire you on our blog. And then it's YOUR turn - LOL

Make It Colourful - Unusual Hair Colours

This week over at Make It Colourful we are asking you to come up with some unusual hair colours. Green is one of my favourite colours so I thought I'd give "Zoe Celebrates" from Make It Crafty a "DO" in a lovely shade of lime green - LOL. She has such fabulous hair to colour up - and she's such a happy character to bring to life!

My DP is Graphic 45 and I love the play on words with the matching sentiment - Zoe's hair is springy and  I've twirled some of the rose stems for more springy fun! I've also added some glittered up some of the lasercut chipboard butterflies from Make it Crafty too - these are from the Butterfly Leaves set.

And thanx to our wonderful sponsor this week - Quixotic Paperie

Mo's Hatter

This is Mo's 'Hatter' and you can find him HERE. He's such a fun and funky character and I'm sure would be the life of any tea party! When I went looking for a fun sketch to help me out with my layout I just couldn't go past this one from Sketch Saturday - the embellishments placement was perfect for the build-a-brads I wanted to make to spell out the word TEA. I also used the little tag punch I bought for $1 to make tea bag tags to hang off the rest of the sentiment. I cut the large '?' using a cuttlebug die.

Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Little Release Day Hop

Woohooo - it's release day for the gorgeous kids in the Lil Little range designed by Christina Dee for Tickled Pink Stamps. We also have a fabulous matching sentiment set designed by the lovely Cheri of Graphicat Creations being released today too.

The fun all starts over at Cheri's blog - so pop back there if you've just happened to land here. If you are already hopping you should have arrived here from Angela's blog.

For my hop project I've made a chocolate slider. These have been around for a while but I was reminded of how much fun they were recently by my lovely friend Chris. She gave me the motivation to give one a go. I did change mine up a bit by turning the front panel into a card as well. If you'd like more information on how I made this I'll be posting a tutorial over on the Tickled Pink Stamps blog later this month.

And since this IS a card and that's the challenge I'm entering this over at Deep Ocean Challenges.

Now before you hop on to the next stop I'd like to announce the winner of my little Lil Little Lolita Lilith competition (say THAT fast 5 times - LOL)

Congratulations.......Susan Margarson

I'll be emailing your Tickled Pink Stamps gift voucher to you ASAP.

Now it's time to hop on over to Emma's blog - but if you get lost along the way the full hop list is on the TPS blog.

Happy hopping and until next time - Think PINK

Who Wouldn't Want a House Fairy!?!

What a PERFECT birthday gift a little house fairy would be - I know I would LOVE one - hint hint hubby dearest - LOL. This is Mo Manning's "housework fairy" and she's available HERE.

What I LOVE about this gal is how light she is on her feet and how happy she seems in her work - wish I felt the same when I was doing housework!!!! I listen to music to motivate me - I wonder what music housework fairies would listen too - she certainly looks like she could be singing along to something - Lady GaGa maybe????

Make It Colourful - Pleats and Folds

This week at Make it Colourful it's all about adding pleats and folds. Our sponsor this week is Magnolia-Licious so I've used a Magnolia Christmas sentiment. I've also used Make it Crafty's Sitting Annalise digi stamp and popped her on some pleated and folded ribbon candy. The candy image came from one of my favourite decorative painting designers - Debbie Mitchell of Cozy Cubby fame. I have several of her gorgeous patterns and books from when I painted and always loved her ribbon candy - I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

I've always found it fascinating to make something 2D look 3D by adding highlights and shadows with colour. I know there are some other AMAZING ideas for this challenge from the other MiC DT gals too - so check them out on our blog HERE. I've also used some Make it Crafty Flower Leaf Swirls lasercuts to add some sparkle.

Tickled Pink Stamps is Sponsoring the Lily Pad and Scrappekammeret Challenges

This week Tickled Pink Stamps is proud to be sponsoring two fabulous challenges - Lily Pad with a colour challenge and Scrappekammeret who are asking us to use only ONE patterned paper.

Since the challenges were announced only a day apart I combined both of them  into one card using Lil Fashionette 60s Willow. Her hippy style fits right in with the bright colour palette sent by Lily Pad and I was very thankful to find this DP in my stash too - LOL. It all came together a lot easier than I thought it would - LOL.

Tickled Pink Stamps Preview Day 1

Woohooo it's the start of previews for the next release from Tickled Pink Stamps - the Lil Little Collection - a collection of SIX of our gorgeous Lolita's and Lad's as kids. We are starting off with the gorgeous Lil Little Lolita Lilith. Lilith has always been one of my favourite characters - featuring in the very first release. She's now appeared in 7 releases and this inspired me to create a "Life of Lilith" project - a bit like a photo collage of our kids we'd have on the mantlepiece.

I've used a Kaisercraft collage frame and decorated it up to celebrate - it was such a fun project to work on. I did have to get my hubby to widen the grooves each piece went into though - they didn't fit even BEFORE I started painting and decorating - soo glad I have a clever hubby to call upon. I just wish I'd learnt to pop letters on straight though - WHY do we notice these things too late - LOL.
Now I DID say there were SEVEN Lilith's and I'm offering a little prize for someone who can tell me which one is missing. Email me at rdpam@hotmail.com with the missing Lilith and your name will go in the draw for a $20 Tickled Pink Stamps voucher! I will ONLY accept email entries and will announce the winner here during the release day hop on July 13th.

Now don't forget there will be a new preview each day over at the Tickled Pink Stamps blog  - so go check them all out! And check out the prizes up for grabs while you are there.

Couture Collection Blog Hop

Today we have something special for you - my gorgeous and talented teamie Denise from Magnolia Down Under Challenges also designs designer paper - and it's just GORGEOUS! She asked some of us if we'd like to help her launch her latest designs using the card makers pack from the Couture Collection available HERE - and check out the rest of the range while you're there!

There is also some blog candy on offer for those that leave a comment at each stop on the hop!

I LOVE the gorgeous tones of this DP and since it is the STAR of the hop I didn't want to cover up too much of it. I used a glittered frame for my little Magnolia gnome to sit on rather than a shaped piece so the paper isn't hidden - it's just tooo delicious!

You're next stop on the hop is the fabulous Debbie Dolphin's blog - enjoy!

Here's the full hop list in case you get lost along the way

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #103

I decided to honour my American friends and came up with an idea for a July 4th card. The USA has also been playing a large part in my family at the moment with my hubby arriving home from there yesterday and my daughter heading to Costa Rica via Los Angeles on Tuesday - she's going to do some volunteer work with giant sea turtles!

I found a picture of the American flag on the net and "chopped" it before printing to produce a striped background and a star panel. I used my star nesties to pop Cheerleader Tilda on and my Magnolia swirl die to create a "firework" burst of a floral arrangement. I've sparkled up the trim on Tilda's costume and her pom poms - it looks so much better IRL!

HAPPY 4th of JULY to all my American friends....
and Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the gals gorgeous work with Kristy's sketch over at the MDUC blog.

Make It Colourful - Add Reflections to Water

This week over at Make it Colourful we are asking you to add reflections to water and our sponsor is Make It Crafty. I've take 2 gorgeous Make It Crafty images and merged them together - Sailing Leaf  and Cici. I then inverted them in paint.NET and played with the special effects to distort and blur them - I also "squished" them slightly - reflections are rarely crisp and clear. I then added the original image on "top" of the water and printed it out and coloured it up. I added some blinged up lasercut Flower Leaf Frames from Make It Crafty to embellish.

If you're after more inspiration check out what some of the other DT gals have come up with on our blog - there are different ways of adding reflections and some GORGEOUS work!

NOW for some NEWS......

On July 14, Zoe and Christy and their teams will release a delightful combination of Victorian Steampunk images, and we welcome you to anticipate the release of...

"Mix and Match with Make It Crafty and Tiddly Inks."

The Craft's Meow July Release Blog Hop

To celebrate our July release blog hop from The Craft's Meow I have made my very first shaker card - woohooo - it was soooo much fun and something I've been wanting to do for AGES.

Now if you ARE already hopping along you should have arrived here from Amy's blog, but if you're not you can head back to the start at The Craft's Meow blog where you'll also find all the details about the release and of course the prizes on offer!

I've used stamps from 3 of the four sets that are being released today - they look like they were MADE for each other don't they?! In fact I love how all the TCM stamp sets work together which makes them soo versatile. And this card - like most of my release cards - also used papers from the gorgeous My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose pad that is also available from The Craft's Meow store.

Now it's time to hop along to Jean's blog .

Here's the full list in case you get lost along the way...
