Fun Folds in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are using Fun Folds. I have always liked tri-fold cards but somehow always managed to cut them so they didn't sit flat when folded. This time I cheated and drafted one up using my Silhouette Cameo, making sure I also drafted out the designer paper pieces. Then it was easy - I just got my cameo to cut everything out and I simply put it together and decorated it. I do believe I'll be making more of these now ;)

Aurora Wings Challenge #3

This month on the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog we are asking you to use....

Now these can be within the image or as part of your embellishments - I've gone for both here. I've used the beautiful Girl with Fairies image. The large fairy at the front had been given the 3D treatment with the top part of her wings cut and popped up using silicone. All the fairy wings are coated in "fairy dust" (aka glitter) for that extra magical touch.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the AMAZING DT inspiration on our BLOGWe also have a very active Facebook Fan Group with additional contests, challenges and inspiration.  Hope to see you there as well.

Using String or Twine in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are using twine and/or string - I managed to use both to create a full bow for my large rose to sit on. The card shape and mats were cut using my Cameo. I have popped Faerie Marci up on a wobble fixture - she looks so cute glittering away as the glitter and rhinestones capture the light as she moves.

A Baby Card for Mia

Yesterday I got to meet my gorgeous new Great-Niece Mia. She is just the most adorable little thing - when I look at my "baby" who now towers above me now it's hard to believe he was ever close to being that small. They really do grow so fast!

To celebrate the early arrival of Miss Mia I used this adorable New Baby image from Wee Stamps. I also used the Martha Stewart alpha mold and a baby feet mold I have with some paper clay - I LOVE how much fun this stuff is to use and the dimension it gives. I was also grateful they hadn't chosen a much longer name ;)

Using Your Scraps in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are using up our scraps. I created my background from offcuts of paper and chose Mad Hatter Luka because he looks awesome coloured in funky colours to match. The felt die cut was siting on my desk after not being chosen to decorate the calico bag in a recent post. The flower bunch was cut and then not used for the new release we had a couple of weeks ago and the orange bow is from a bunch of flowers my hubby bought me. This was a fun challenge to do and made me realize how many scraps I do hoard - LOL.

Happy 21st Anjali

Yesterday one of my daughter's best friends turned 21 and I made this card for her. She's an amazing artist in her own right and also has some gorgeous artwork (aka tattoos) decorating her body. Although I'm an old fuddy duddy and am not interested in tattoos for myself I can really appreciate the artwork. Because of this I chose this beautiful image from Aurora Wings called Dragon Lore

Happy 21st Anjali - hope you had an AMAZING day beautiful girl!

Top Hat Diorama

Last year at the La-La Land Crafts retreat we got to play with the FABULOUS La-La Land mini top hat and I had this wacky idea to have one open up and have a little scene inside soooooo check it out........

La-La Land Crafts had just released their Alice in Wonderland collection and they seemed the perfect choice for a funky little scene.

As a result of showing this off to the La-La Land team I was asked to put together a tutorial - you'll find it on the La-La Land Blog HERE.

And this is the one I ended up decorating after I had put it together for the tutorial - a little more of a Steampunk theme.

Remember La-La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La-La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La-La Land Stamps and Dies too. And if you give this a go PLEASE let me know, I would LOVE to come over and check it out :)

For a Special Lady.....

This week in La-La Land we are creating something for a "Special Lady". I found a piece of hand made soap with a flat surface and added a stamped and coloured image onto one side. This is really easy to do - stamp your image onto tissue paper, paint a layer of mod podge onto the soap and lay your image into it. Once dry protect your image with another layer of mod podge. To present my soap I added some felt die-cuts to a little calico bag.
