Christmas Note Cards

I needed a few little Christmas notecards and couldn't go past Mo Manning's new Elves for them. Two of these are in the new store...Cookie Elf and Peppermint Elf. The other image - Cocoa Elf - had been available in Mo's Patreon. I'm couldn't find her to link here but you can always contact Mo and ask her about it's current availability.

The finished size of the notecards is 4 1/2" - so you can imagine how small the images are which can be a challenge to colour up properly

Cookie Elf by Mo Manning

This cutie is Mo Manning's Cookie Elf - one of the fabulous new Christmas images in Mo's new store.

Since it's only October I am not quite into the Christmas spirit yet - even though we crafters know we need to get moving on Christmas early - so I went with a non-traditional colour scheme and I love it. Those who follow me regularly know lime green is one of my favourite colours so of course that was the way to go 😀

Earth Elf by Mo Manning

This adorable image is Earth Elf by Mo Manning. It's one of Mo's fabulous new Christmas images, which means it jumped onto my to do list as soon as I saw it! I love all things Christmas and Mo's images are just magical!

I went with some non traditional colours for the elf, but kept the Earth bauble a little more realistic, before dousing it in glitter - it is a Christmas card after all 😉

Too Sweet by Mo Manning

This adorable image is Too Sweet by Mo Manning. Once again for my card I've used the beautiful digital paper that Mo includes with her images. I was glad it worked so well with my daughter's favourite colour palette as this card is destined for my granddaughter.

I've used some chunky glitter on the fairy floss for added sugary texture too.

Bella Donna by Mo Manning

This beauty is called Bella Donna by Mo Manning. As always she comes with a fabulous digital paper and sentiment. I tend not to put sentiments on the front of my cards very often so apologies for that. But I do try to use Mo's papers when I can for colour combo choices for my colouring. I have to say this one gave me a bit of a challenge as the colour scheme was not what I'd usually use for a little witch, even one this adorable.

Recently I accidentally printed out the digi paper in B&W for a different image, this time I've done it on purpose because I loved the look of using both versions. Her dress is also paper pieced with the coloured version before I added some shading. Her stockings are B&W in an homage to the B&W background. She looks perfect for an Autumn day in the woods now, even though it's Springtime here in Australia 😉

One More Book by Mo Manning

This adorable little image is called One More Book. Once again I have used the digital patterned paper that comes with the image to help with my choice of colouring. I'm usually someone who used bright and bold colours, but I thoroughly enjoyed using a more pastel selection with this image.

Reading books is such an important part of childhood and certainly helps to foster imagination in us all. I believe this image and sentiment, and what they represent, are really important reminders in this day of electronic devices.

Stay Wild by Mo Manning

I just love this new image by Mo Manning, it's especially great for the young males in your life. This is Stay Wild. It also comes with this fabulous digital paper - the coloured version! I made a happy mistake by initially printing the paper off in B&W as I hadn't realised that someone else in my family had adjusted the printer settings. I decided to use both versions to showcase the versatility of these digital papers 😀

Making Waves by Mo Manning

This gorgeous image is called Making Waves and is a slightly older image in Mo Manning's store so it's currently on sale (at the time of my post going live). I've used the beautiful patterned paper that comes with the image for the background. I then added some decorative die cuts as borders and sparkle to her scales and jewellery to complete my layout. A simple yet elegant design which let's the image be the hero.

Madam Celeste by Mo Manning

Mo has uploaded lots of fabulous new images into her new store and this beauty is one of them. This is Madam Celeste and she comes with the sentiment and the digital patterned paper I used. I just love the papers Mo's including with her images, they often inspire my colour palette and/or design. In this case I used part of the pattern in the crystal ball and covered it with diamond glaze. The hand drawn border around the image was also inspired by the paper.

I hope you like it.

Until Next Time

xXx

Petal Pixie Poppy by Mo Manning

After a design team break and recovering from hand surgery I'm back with a brand new image from Mo Manning. This cutie is Petal Pixie Poppy and she's one of several new images Mo has released in her store.

I used the beautiful digi paper that comes with the image for the background and to inspire my colouring combo.

I'm so excited to be back colouring and am loving having new images to work with, you should go check them out.

Darrel's Big Win by Mo Manning

Meet Darrel - he's the boy companion for Mo's Darla image and is currently a freebie on Mo's Patreon page. Both of these cuties come with various options for their hands (open, closed, holding the heart banner) so you can customise them to suit your needs. They also come with a sentiment and a digital designer paper. Darrel's sentiment is "Big Win" and the DP features dinosaurs graphics. There is so much scope for FUN with these images.

Dodi by Mo Manning

This cute image is Dodi by Mo Manning. She's not currently in either the store or Mo's Patreon but if you really want her it's worth contacting Mo to ask.

I used an Altenew embossing folder called Ribbons to add some texture to the background panel after first sponging on some colour.

Darla and New Year Cat from Mo Manning

Today I'm bringing you a card I made using 2 of Mo's newest digi images from her Patreon - Darla and New Year Cat. Darla comes with a couple of options for the heart string - it comes separately so she doesn't have to hold it, or it's strung between her hands. I cut the hands out of the string to create garlands. I also cut some of the hearts out separately so the cat has some heart "confetti" to sweep up. It was so much fun putting these 2 together, the look on the cat's face is everything!

Both of these images come with their own digital papers. I've used the 2 that come with Darla - one was paper pieced for her skirt and the other is the background. The cat's paper is multi-coloured confetti.

Teen Fairy Feronia by Mo Manning

This week for my DT make I chose Teen Fairy Feronia which is available in Mo's Patreon shop. I decided to give her wings a shimmer, so rather than using glitter I used a clear Wink of Stella pen. It's hard to see the shimmer properly here but it's magical IRL.

Flowers by Mo Manning

I thought the sentiment that came with this image was so appropriate as we start a new year. I hope everyone has an amazing one!

The image is Flowers by Mo Manning and included is the digital paper and sentiment which pair beautifully with the girl holding a simple bunch of flowers. I added a few small die cut flowers with rhinestone centres to the bunch for added texture.
