Some Cards and a Blog Award!

Firstly I apologies for not posting as regularly as usual - I think I was a little flat after Convention - which seems strange because I was sooo fired up when I left Canberra! Maybe it was heading back to work straight away that did it - I wanted to play not work!! It's also amazing how my few days away from home can create soo much housework!!!

I am currently preparing a display for the Picture to Page Papercrafting Show which is on this coming weekend in Melbourne. I'll be on the Stampin' Up stand on Saturday if you want to pop in and say "hi" - it's at The Whitehorse Club, 298-336 Burwood Hwy, East Burwood - Mel.Ref 62C7

I've used a number of cards I already had in my stash but I did need a few more to co-ordinate the display properly. I made these up on Mother's Day - it was wonderful to sit and stamp without worrying about what else I should be doing!! I love the guys from Holiday Line-Up and can't decide which group is my favourite. These guys just have some colours "washed" over in places using my Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss stamp pads and blender pen! The striped DP from Urban Garden gives them a really funky feel I think.

This card is a direct CASE from the fabulous Dawn Griffith - she has a wonderful video tutorial here. It uses the crayon resist technique. I have seen some fabulous different colour versions of these lately but Dawn's colours co-ordinated perfectly with the rest of my display! Check out Zarna's and Lisa's versions too - gorgeous! These lovely ladies were the inspiration for me trying the card out - so thanx!
This one was inspired by one of the swaps I received at Convention - from Andrea Lowcock, check out her swaps here. I was in desperate need of a place to start when I saw the box of swaps, and I ended up with way too many ideas in the end - LOL. I have changed her design around a little - but loved the whole concept of her card - and yes, you guessed it - it matched my display!! I've also added Dazzling Diamonds to the Pacific Point leaves on the main image - a little bling never hurts - LOL

Now for the wonderful blog award Kellie Winnell not only passed on to me but had designed herself!!!! The idea behind the award is this - to quote Kellie - "I feel that there are a lot out there that are award for the creative sides of things and I love them, but few to just appreciate the people that follow and comment on your blog which to me nothing makes my day more than having gorgeous comments left on something you created, really lifts the spirits and makes my day." I'm soo with Kellie on that - it's amazing how a few comments can change a bad day around!

I'd like to pass this on too....in no particular order....because these gals always end up making me smile!!!! Check out their fabulous blogs too!!!

Kellie Winnell - yup she deserves it even if it IS her award!!!
Lisa Hjulberg
Michelle Yungbauer
Emily Wundrock
Marcia at The Stamp Spot
Cheryl Joshua - I know Kellie gave her this award but she always brightens my day too!
Kristine B from Ink Something

I know, I went over 5 recipients too - but it's tooo hard not too!!! Trust me I could have kept on going - I enjoy reading every single comment left on my blog - OH OK - there were a couple I had to delete that weren't so enjoyable!! Thanx to everyone who leaves comments - it really is appreciated!

A Blog Award!

The ultra talented Cheryl Joshua has overwhelmed me with this fabulous blog award - I keep telling people that blogging has sooo many rewards!! I have "met" some absolutely amazing people in cyberland and I can't thank them enough for their generosity of spirit and talent! What a dull day it would be if I didn't know these cyber friends were out there! My ideal would be to host a fabulous event where I could gather all my cyber friends together - oh the laughs we would have, and maybe a glass or 2 of champers!!!

The idea for this award is all about friendship........

“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award”

Now to pass it on - but to only 8!!! Aaaaagh - anyone who knows me knows I love a chat - and I've had some lovely "chats" with many of the bloggers I've connected with - and there are soooo many more out there to meet!

Nope can't do it, I can NOT only pick 8!!! I stopped my list at 20 lovely bloggers - and want to put them ALL in - and more!!! The answer - I'm going to pass it on to anyone from my blog list who would like it!! There is just NO WAY I can narrow it down!! I know this is the cheats way out - but I need to spend time packing today so I'm going to cheat!!

I'm going to look forward to catching up on all the blogs when I get back from Canberra on Sunday - I may get a chance to do another post - but probably not! Yay - am off to have lunch and get those swaps finished so I can pack!!!

A Blog Award

I have been honoured by 2 of my favourite bloggers with this award over the past 24 hours - the wonderful Kellie Winnell and the equally wonderful Cheryl Joshua. I am in awe of these 2 ladies - they are amazingly talented and I'm honoured to call them blog buddies!

It's now my pleasant duty to pass this wonderful award on to 5 other marvellous bloggers - and this is what's taken the time - I want to nominate about 15!!!!! I have brutally cut down my list to these 5 - but know there are many blogs in my blog list who are equally deserving - so hope you check them all out!!!

Here's the final 5, in no particular order!

Blog Award

Thanx soo much to my cyber friend and fellow blogger Lisa at Craft's Meow for bestowing on me this Fabulos Blog award. Lisa is an amazing talent and well worth checking out - as well as being a fun person to get to know! She has recently attended a Copic's class so it will be interesting to see what she gets up to next!
A condition of this award it that you reveal 5 of your addictions - hmmm - guess you all know what one of them will be - LOL - Here goes.........
MY FAMILY - My family will always be my biggest addiction. Without them I wouldn't have the freedom or desire to be creative. I consider a number of my friends as family too - they're the family you choose, right?
PAPER CRAFTS - This has been a relatively new addiction - and my family tell me I must be a bit obsessive because once I get an interest in something - move aside!!! Mind you - I still think they put something in the rubber and ink - this craft really does take hold! AND then there are all those wonderful challenges to try out - aaagh - where do I stop!!! LOL
SEWING - Sewing has been my passion for a number of years. I make bears, quilts, dolls and, more recently, became the costume designer and maker for my daughter's synchronised figure skating team. My fabrics and sewing tools are currently "resting" while I indulge in "topping up" my stamping supplies!
COOKING - I've always enjoyed cooking - it was something I did with both parents on the weekends - standing on a kitchen chair so I could see into the pot on the stove. I don't enjoy it as much these days - there is always the "diet" to think of (I've never been a skinny person!). The day to day of feeding the family is also a chore - but watch out when there's something special going on!
SURFING - THAT'S BLOGS NOT THE REAL THING - lol - Along with my new passion for paper crafting has been the exciting world of blog hopping. Starting my own blog has in itself become an addiction - but then you HAVE to check everyone's elses out and let them know you've visited! This has been time consuming but a whole heap of fun. I've made some fabulous cyber friends from all around the world!
NOW on to passing this blog on. I have recently passed awards on to bloggers I have been following for some time - and LOVE their work. For this blog I wanted to nominate some blogs that I have recently discovered - have you noticed how fast my blog roll is growing!! I have discovered all of these blogs via other blogs or by checking out challenge entrants - see, this surfing is FUN! These gals are listed in no particular order - they are ALL fab.

Three Blog Awards - wow do I feel loved!

The lovely Jasmine over at Jazzy Stamper left this blog award for me just before I went off camping. It was such an honour and it also gave me the chance to check out Jasmine's work - another talented Aussie lady you should check out! My plan was to use some of my time away to decide who to pass it on to - there are soooo many lovely and talented people out there it's NOT an easy decision to make. Needless to say I didn't make ANY decision while I was away as my laptop was left at home as we had no internet access where we were going - aaagh. I've decided to stick with Aussie bloggers for this one - sorry you out of towners!!
Here are the rules for the award:
1. The winner gets to put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 5 blogs for the award.
Here are the 5 that I nominate for this Kreativ Award - for a variety of reasons but mainly because I love what they do and who they are!
Debbie Minter at Hubby's Headache
Liam Pucher at Inspirestampin
I came home today from a wonderful week of camping near the beach to find that the wonderful Michelle at Stamp and Smile had kindly awarded me this blog award - wow it's great to know that someone I admire so much holds me in this regard. I have decided to be a little bit of a cheat on this one - it goes to all the recipients of the other 2 awards on this post! These blogs have become favourites because I feel a connection to the bloggers as well as an appreciation of their talents. Blogging has become such a big part of the Stampin Up community and my life, and I feel the shared interest in these wonderful products has added benefits I hadn't dreamed of. I know there are many more talented bloggers out there - and I'm in awe of all of you. It's not always easy to "put yourself out there" ....but it's a lot of fun!!!!!

I just love the idea for this award - and have become good cyberfriends with the lovely Kellie Winnell who passed it on to me. She is a fun lovin' lady whom I can't wait to meet for real.

"This is called The Proximity Award. These blogs believe and invest in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their awards”.

These lovely bloggers not only inspire me but are very generous with sharing their talent and work - and I'm feeling that many of them are becoming good cyber buddies too - it's amazing what a little comment on a blog can lead too. If you haven't checked them out - DO SO!!!!

Blog Award

Wow - thanx soo much to Robyn at "Rainbows by Robyn" for giving me this Blog Award. I was recently nominated for another blog award by Sam Post at Ryemilan's Stamping and Scrapbook but blogging was all new to me then and I wasn't sure what it meant - what a duffer I am!!! I feel very honoured to have been nominated for both of these by 2 of my own favorite bloggers!

Now the hard part - to pick some other great blogs to receive this award - Robyn has already nominated a few I would have chosen so make sure you check them out too - Ramona and Lisa (Digitalfox) are listed under "Blogs I Like".

Others I would choose are .....

- Sam Post at http://ryemilan.blogspot.com/ - she is an amazing talent and I could just spend my card making time CASEing her work!

- Donna at http://butternutsagedesigns.blogspot.com/ - another fabulous designer with some sensational ideas.

- Jean at http://jeanmckenzie.blogspot.com/ - a lady who's work is always outstanding.

and last but by no means least

- Petronella at http://www.keepstamping.com/ - someone who always inspires with different techniques.
