Some Cards and a Blog Award!

Firstly I apologies for not posting as regularly as usual - I think I was a little flat after Convention - which seems strange because I was sooo fired up when I left Canberra! Maybe it was heading back to work straight away that did it - I wanted to play not work!! It's also amazing how my few days away from home can create soo much housework!!!

I am currently preparing a display for the Picture to Page Papercrafting Show which is on this coming weekend in Melbourne. I'll be on the Stampin' Up stand on Saturday if you want to pop in and say "hi" - it's at The Whitehorse Club, 298-336 Burwood Hwy, East Burwood - Mel.Ref 62C7

I've used a number of cards I already had in my stash but I did need a few more to co-ordinate the display properly. I made these up on Mother's Day - it was wonderful to sit and stamp without worrying about what else I should be doing!! I love the guys from Holiday Line-Up and can't decide which group is my favourite. These guys just have some colours "washed" over in places using my Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss stamp pads and blender pen! The striped DP from Urban Garden gives them a really funky feel I think.

This card is a direct CASE from the fabulous Dawn Griffith - she has a wonderful video tutorial here. It uses the crayon resist technique. I have seen some fabulous different colour versions of these lately but Dawn's colours co-ordinated perfectly with the rest of my display! Check out Zarna's and Lisa's versions too - gorgeous! These lovely ladies were the inspiration for me trying the card out - so thanx!
This one was inspired by one of the swaps I received at Convention - from Andrea Lowcock, check out her swaps here. I was in desperate need of a place to start when I saw the box of swaps, and I ended up with way too many ideas in the end - LOL. I have changed her design around a little - but loved the whole concept of her card - and yes, you guessed it - it matched my display!! I've also added Dazzling Diamonds to the Pacific Point leaves on the main image - a little bling never hurts - LOL

Now for the wonderful blog award Kellie Winnell not only passed on to me but had designed herself!!!! The idea behind the award is this - to quote Kellie - "I feel that there are a lot out there that are award for the creative sides of things and I love them, but few to just appreciate the people that follow and comment on your blog which to me nothing makes my day more than having gorgeous comments left on something you created, really lifts the spirits and makes my day." I'm soo with Kellie on that - it's amazing how a few comments can change a bad day around!

I'd like to pass this on too....in no particular order....because these gals always end up making me smile!!!! Check out their fabulous blogs too!!!

Kellie Winnell - yup she deserves it even if it IS her award!!!
Lisa Hjulberg
Michelle Yungbauer
Emily Wundrock
Marcia at The Stamp Spot
Cheryl Joshua - I know Kellie gave her this award but she always brightens my day too!
Kristine B from Ink Something

I know, I went over 5 recipients too - but it's tooo hard not too!!! Trust me I could have kept on going - I enjoy reading every single comment left on my blog - OH OK - there were a couple I had to delete that weren't so enjoyable!! Thanx to everyone who leaves comments - it really is appreciated!

xXx

These are wow cards, perfect for a display. I love the Holiday Lineup card .... very cute.

Hey thanks for the award, I agree with Kellie's reason behind the award, it only takes one comment to turn a flat day to sunshine!

First, what awesome eye candy! I love your snow people card...your color wash against the DP is perfection. Nice touch with the postal stamp, too!

I'm also loving the Manhattan Flower set... I just did the Andrea Walford class for Stamp Club, and oh was it nice! For another cool technique with that set, you've got to check this out: http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2009/04/watercolor-roses-technique-and-video-tutorial.html

Your third card is lovely too. I really like those colors together, and bling is always a good touch! There's that cool tag technique again...

Finally, thank you soooooo much for the blog award, my friend. That is so sweet of you. I'd give it to you, too. Your posts and emails always make me smile (as do Michelle's and Kristine's).

I hope you'll start feeling more peppy soon. I can totally relate to how work and house chores can suck the mojo right out of you!

Lots of love and hugs,
Lisa

I hope you are back to your “wonderful self” soon!!! It's hard when you’re gone for a few days and return home to a rat-race of things to do! Sounds like a gorgeous display you are getting ready for!! I just LOVE the 3 cards you made... I don't have the Holiday line up YET, and thanks for enabling me! LOL!! :) (I surf Andrea Lowcock blog with such joy, and you met her in person.. COOL!)

Thanks SO MUCH for the blog award, I'm blushing!! :) I do enjoy commenting, linking, visiting and getting to know people from all over the world! I think I do that more than STAMP... I squeeze a card in and get back on-line.... do I have a problem??! Better stop here, I'm winded!! He... Hugs! :)

Debbie, Your cards are beautiful as always. I love the Fifth Ave Floral card you did using Dawn's technique. I hope to try this technique out soon too. Your snowman card is fabulous. It may be the middle of the year but Christmas cards always make me feel cheery and bright. Great job colouring.

Hi Debbie, these three cards are great. Love the colours, so I guess I'll have to sneak up to the show on Saturday and see them in real life!

I love those snow bound fellows, and the way you've done the postmark too. That really makes it stand out and adds to the fun of the card. The floral one is so pretty too. I'm looking forward to the next afternoon we can work together because there's just a few (or maybe a LOT) of things I'd love you to show me how to do.

One of the nice things about seeing everyone's work here is picking up an idea and experimenting to make it your own. I have you to thank for all those overstamped flowers on one of my last posts.... I've seen that on some of your work and finally tried it out.

Congratulations on the award from Kellie... it is richly deserved as you always find time to post a friendly comment and they're so welcome to read.

Debbie, your cards are beautiful as always!! Just love the Holiday Lineup card and that is one set that I have never given a second look to - hmmmmmmm!! LOVE the rose card too as I adore that set - it is sooo versatile and I hadnt even thought of using crayon resist with it.

Congratulations too on the lovely award from Kellie - she is sooo clever to be able to design things and you are well deservant of that award. I always appreciate blog comments - nice ones that is LOL!!

I wish I could stamp more these days but not with slowly packing 21 years of stash!!! Can't wait to settle down and get into stamping properly again.
