Last night I sat and coloured with sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes. Making sympathy cards is never an easy thing to do especially when it's for a baby. One of my blogging friends lost her 2 month old grand-daughter to SIDS on Tuesday. I can't even begin the imagine the pain she and her family are going through at the moment.
Creating a card seemed such an insignificant thing to do until my dear friend Kylie, with her beautiful card for our mutual friend, reminded me that a little piece of decorated cardstock represents friendship and support in this awful time and you can't underestimate the power of that.
R.I.P. sweet baby girl - there's a new star in heaven watching over us now.

This is such a beautiful card - the sympathy & love shows. I particularly love the representation of a new star in heaven. Just beautiful, however I too am so sorry that it even needed to be made.
My thoughts are Kylie and her family. I am sure that she will treasure this card as a keepsake in memory of her precious grand-daughter.

Oh dear this is so very sad, I hate it when someone loses a child its heartbreaking , but hopefully this beautiful card will go a little way to help mum and dad realise people care, its lovely xxx
My heart aches for your friend ... and her family. What a sad sad loss. We don't hear much about SIDS anymore ... but I was only talking about it with my daughter today. (Yes ... just today!!!) She was telling me how my new little grand-daughter is wriggling out of her covers in her cot (6 mths old) ... and I wondered if it was worth pushing her up to the top of the cot ... by folding her sheets & blankets higher ... but Stacey reminded me that to fit sheet at the bottom of the cot was a safety idea to reduce the incidence of SIDS ... and what a difference all of the safety ideas had made. But ... although there are fewer incidents of SIDS there are still the tragically sad cases that still happen. I hope your gorgeous (and totally appropriate) card is a help and comfort at this time. Hugs xx
