Slimline Christmas Gnome

Well it seemed it was time to jump on the slimline card bandwagon and I had such fun creating this card. The gorgeous gnome is from Mo Manning and I paired him with some digital papers I bought years ago - unfortunately the company I bought them from is no longer in business :( , but the concept is certainly one you can repeat using different digi papers.

To create the background paper I uploaded the digi paper which already had a white edging on it. I then re-sized to one inch and replicated it over and over to create my design. I have found the easiest way to do this is to use my Silhouette Cameo. You import the file, re-size and then use the duplicate button to create the look and size wanted. Then simply print off your design. Not the normal use for the Cameo I know, but I just consider it another feature ;) . I have used this technique a lot in the past - mainly for creating backgrounds using repeating patters of sentiments, such as on THIS card.

I also printed out the paper as a 4" square to sit my finished gnome on.

The pinecone die is from La-La Land Crafts. I shaped the pinecones slightly and pushed out the little grooves on the pinecone. It adds a fabulous texture to them if you want to spend the extra time.

The sentiment dies are from Impression Obsession and are called Christmas Stitched Words. I cut them out twice - one in white and once in green and filled the letter gaps on the green set with the letters from the white set.

CASE Me a Christmas Card

Every year for the past few years my crafty friend Michelle Lupton has asked me to play along with her "Challenge Me a Christmas Card". In the past we've chosen a theme and created to that theme. This year Michelle tweaked it a little - and I have to say it was a FABULOUS tweak and one I really enjoyed. This year we are CASE'ing a card created by each other.

I checked out Michelle's Instagram Page - Michelle_Lupton and chose THIS card she created to CASE, isn't it adorable? I love gnomes and chose 3 of  Mo Manning's to use. Michelle used the Gnomies from Paper Rose Studio.

Of course given it's a Christmas Challenge I did change the colours and sentiment to suit the festive season. Thanks Michelle for another awesome challenge.

To check out which of my cards Michelle chose to CASE check out her link HERE. I can't wait to see what she did! And don't forget to check out more of her amazing CASEs for this challenge on her BLOG.

Aurora Wings October Challenge

Since Mitzi stopped posting themed challenges for her gorgeous Aurora Wings images she had been running monthly "Anything Goes, New or Old" challenges on the fan Facebook Page. This is my DT make for October using the gorgeous Dragon Sprite. I do apologise that I haven't listed my Copic colours - I admit when I wasn't blogging I got a bit slack writing them down. But once I finish posting the images I've already coloured you'll find I will start adding the colours back into my posts.

I created this card to give to some neighbourhood kids as they have been making me smile on my walks with my dog while we've been in the longest lockdown in the world I believe!!! Their little messages were much appreciated by many I'm sure, and I hope my little thank you note brings a smile to their faces too.

My Last 2020 Blog Catch Up Post

Well I did it - in just a few short posts I've updated my blog with makes from 2020 that I had posted on Instagram at @debpamment but not here. I'm pretty sure all the others on my Insta page can be found on my blog now, apologies if I missed any!

This gorgeous Emu is from Whimsy Stamps and their Love for Australia digital stamp set. I enlarged him and cropped him to fit into my digital frame before adding some digital gum tree branches and colouring. The background was done first, with Copics and colourless blender.

This card was done for a good friend of mine who loves Altenew stamps and dies and was the person who introduced them to me. I have quite a collection now too 😉. You can't tell it here but the leafy background was done using my Silhoutte Cameo and foiling pen. It looks gorgeous shining in the right light.

Another 2020 Blog Catch-Up Post - Twistoon Stamps

This is my last catch up post dedicated to just one artist, my next one will have cards from a couple of different artists and then I think I'm all caught up and ready to start showcasing some new cards 😀

The name of this artist may look unfamiliar while the images may seem very familiar. Twistoon Stamps used to be called Bloobel Stamps, but after Lisa shut down her store the name Bloobel wasn't available when she decided she missed us crafters so much she'd re-open, so she's now been re-badged as Twistoon Stamps. She also has a cool app called Mixtoon Monsters  where you can design your own monsters, and a great Youtube channel where she showcases colouring techniques.

This card is a birthday card for one of my work colleagues. The logo is our school logo and the "training" is on the software we use and of course we've been working from home for most of the past few months, and she has cats - so I figured it all worked out. There is a "dog version" or a pet free version of this image too.

I CASE'd this design from the gorgeous card made by Annabel Haines, it was the perfect choice for a bee loving friend I haven't been able to see due to Covid-19 lockdown - the bees in the jar is reminiscent of the barrier between us at the moment.

2020 Blog Catch Up - Mo Manning Images

Continuing with my 2020 blog catch-up from today I'm showcasing images from artists I love but am not on the DT for. It's so nice to have the opportunity to play with images that I just WANT to play with. These gorgeous images are from Mo Manning at Mo's Digital Pencil. I was blessed to have been on Mo's Dream Team a while ago and have never lost my love for her art, just finding the time to use it was my issue.

The flower on the card below is made using Heartfelt Creations stamps, dies and shaping mold. The leaves are a die from La-La Land Crafts.

I created the card below for my daughter to send to a friend in England. She wanted a little bit of "Aussie" to go with it so I after sending her image options she chose Mo's gorgeous laughing baby and a cute Koala image from Whimsy Stamps, their Love for Australia set. The papers are from a digital set I bought years ago from Valerian Digital (I couldn't find a link for them so I'm not sure if they are still in business). The cute little feet were made from paper clay and a mold I bought at a craft show.

My Simply Betty Stamps Cards for 2020 - A Catch Up

Welcome to my next blog catch up for 2020. Today I'm showcasing my DT makes for Simply Betty Stamps

Betty has such a gorgeous and unique style of art and I love her beautiful images. Some of these cards were made last year but don't seem to have appeared on my blog so here they are.

Unfortunately I'm not as into the Halloween style of images as Betty is - maybe because we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, but there are so many stunning images to find instore if you're like me.

Sadly Betty hasn't been drawing as much this year - she's been concentrating on her gorgeous fabrics and they are well worth checking out if you love to sew - her fabric site is Ms Fits Fabrics - hopefully she'll have more stock soon but I believe there is a pre-order section.

I'll be back again soon with another catch up and there will be NEW card posts coming soon too :)

My Aurora Wings Stamps Cards for 2020 - A Catch Up

Thanks to those you let me know they don't do Instagram and would prefer I keep updating my blog. I thought I'd play a little catch up of my 2020 makes in stages - as I said I haven't been quite as busy as in past years but I have been dabbling - but there are still a few so catch up posts seemed the best way to go.

This post is showcasing most of my Aurora Wings makes. I love Mitzi's images and always enjoy colouring them in and am so proud to be on her Design Team.

I'll make sure to update my blog with more catch-ups and regular posts soon - in the meantime I hope you enjoy checking these out.

Sorry I've Been MIA

WOW it's been ages since I've posted here on my blog and for that I apologise. I'm not sure if people are still using blogs - but if you'd like me to keep updating mine leave me a comment on this post and I'll get back to it ;)

I have been creating - not as prolifically as in the past as I've been working full time on and off and part time generally. It took me some time to get into the rhythm of all that and now Covid-19 has made me move to a new rhythm of working from home!

If you want to see what I have been creating you can check out my instagram page - I have been updating that a lot more regularly as I can do that on my phone during my lunch break if needed. My page is called debpamment so shouldn't be too hard to find if you want to look. In the meantime I will post the odd thing here as well - unless I get enough comments to post here regularly :)

In the meantime - Keep Safe in this weird year that is 2020!
