Time to Partaye!

I've had this cutie from Mo Manning for a while and I'm sooo glad I've finally coloured her up because she can't help but make you feel happy. Her name is Georgia and I swear you can hear her tamborine tinkling away as she's dancing around. I love how this DP  from MME's Stella and Rose Mabel paper pad brings the gypsy feel to life too.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #131

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we are asking you to use "Edwin Only". This little guy is often the forgotten partner to Tilda even though he's a fabulous character in his own right. We at MDUC decided it was time to give him a challenge all of his own.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the MDUC DT's gorgeous Edwin inspiration on our BLOG - and we hope you'll grab your Edwin stamps and come along and play.

Make it Colourful - Shading Reds With Other Colours

It's time for a new challenge at Make it Colourful  and we're asking you to shade reds using darker shades such as grays, purples or browns. I've never done this before and am rapt with the depth I managed to achieve using Copic colours V17 and V15 which are in the violet/purple group.

I chose to use Make it Crafty's Annabelle to colour as the folds of her dress gave me plenty of opportunity to play with the shading. I added an embossed steampunk background and a chipboard gear from Make it Crafty's Gears Galore set. There are also touches of gold on the gear, in the mesh ribbon and on the flowers for a dash of elegance.

Pop on over to our GALLERY to check out what the rest of the MiC DT have coloured up to get your creative juices flowing - and don't forget to join in the fun and enter in the GALLERY too.

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus V17, V15, R37, R35, R32, R30, 100, C7, C6, C4, C2, E18, E17, E15, E13

Australia Day Blog Hop With Make It Crafty

It's Australia Day in the Land Downunder and what better way to celebrate than bring you some NEW Australian themed Digi Stamps and offer you some inspiration with a quick blog hop!!

What is Australia Day? Well in short, it's the day that the first fleet of convicts arrived in Sydney Australia (yup we are a bunch of convicts!! haha). But today we celebrate what's great about Australia with our family and friends and it usually involves a few snags on the barbie (BBQ)!

So let's celebrate amongst friends from around the world and share some crafting inspiration with an Aussie Outback theme!

If you're already on the hop then you should have arrived from Barbara's Blog otherwise if you want to hop from the start head on over to say G'Day to AJ.

For my Aussie creation I've merged 3 of the images and then used a 4th for the corner - the thing I LOVE about merging Make it Crafty images is that they layer so easily. I've added some dimension to the corner by layering one of the leaves and 3 of the gumnuts. The Kookaburra is renowned for it's laughing call so I tried to bring that into my sentiment.

I'm sooo excited about these images - there is NOTHING like them in the digital stamping world - I spent hours looking for something similar recently. And being an Aussie I'm sure I'll be using them heaps to bring a little bit of my world into my crafting.

Now here's my other lil Aussie creation - my son Toby all geared up for our barbie. Australia is very multi-cultural and our family is too - LOL. Toby is the only one of the 4 of us born here - although I've been here since I was 7. I was born in England, hubby was born in Brazil and our daughter in The USA.
Now I guess you're looking for the next mate to hop on over to??

Well before you do... Make sure you comment below for your chance to win an Australian Souvenir. Each of us will be selecting someone from our comments to receive a little Aussie Souvenir from Zoe!
PLUS Zoe is offering 20% OFF store wide at Makeitcrafty.com until the 28th January! Hurry on over (when you get through the hop of course!) to grab some bargains!!

OK OK... It's time to head on over to see my mate Jane

Thanks for celebrating with us!! Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!!!

Coolin' off with Mo's Winter Fairies

It's Summertime here in Melbourne and the last few days have been pretty hot so I thought I'd cool off by using some Wintery images. These cuties are Mo's Winter fairies - there's Winter Fairy Talva on the left and Winter Fairy Halla on the right. I flipped Halla to face the other way before I merged the 2 images together. Don't forget to check out my merging tutorial HERE if you need help to do this.

The cool colours and snowflakes gave me the illusion of cooling down - but I think sitting uder the air-coditioner helped me more - LOL

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus V15,  V12, BV00, BV000, BV0000, B02, B00, B000, B0000, C2, C0, C00, E33, E31, E30

Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop

As you may know the third Thursday of the month is always a fun time for me as I get together with my Mo's Dream Team teamies for a blog hop. This month our hostess with the mostest is the lovely and talented Jane and she's asked us to hop to the theme *All you need is love*

Jane's Blog is where all the fun begins. If you are already hopping along you should have landed here from Heidy's Blog where I'm sure she had some gorgeous eye candy for you. And don't forget there are Mo Vouchers up for grabs for 2 lucky hoppers.

For my card I focused on the fact there are lots of different kinds of love in the world - love of family, friends, chocolate (LOL), and love of Mo's gorgeous images. This is Sophie and she was one of the first images I ever bought from Mo and holds a special place in my heart. Her innocent love for her 'baby doll' reminds me of my childhood, and my daughter's childhood. I found this fabulous poem on the net - it was just what I was looking for to add to my card.

Now it's time to hop on along to check out what marvellousness Mina has created. And don't forget to check out the regular postings for amazing inspiration from the DT on our BLOG.

Here is the Blog Hop order - and you'll find all the links on my left Sidebar under Mo's logo...Jane, Julie, Debby Y, Heidy, Debbie {me}, Mina, Pops, Jak, Lori, Gretha, Kerttu

This week Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Southern Girls Challenge who are asking us to create using  "White on white with a coloured image". I've used the adorable Lil Party Pinkette Faith on my card with lots of white textural elements.

The TPS DT have come up with some more gorgeous inspiration which you can check out on our BLOG. Then hop on over to Southern Girls to join in all the fun for a chance to win a Tickled Pink prize and to check out their DT inspiration.

Tickled Pink Stamps Preview - Lil Greek Gods Apollo Lestat

It's day 5 of previews for the Gods and Goddesses release from Tickled Pink Stamps and if you haven't checked out the previous previews on OUR BLOG do yourself a favour and head on over the RIGHT NOW. The DT gals have had me WOW'ing all week - AND you have a chance to win some digi images for yourself!

Today we're bringing you Lil Greek God Apollo LeStat. Apollo was the Greek God of prophecy, the arts, healing, and later, the sun. I have placed a small spray of pearls in the top right corner to represent the sun - the curl coming off looks a little like a sun ray to me - if I squint - LOL. The use of yellow in my card is also to represent the sun. The Kaisercraft DP was a perfect way to represent the Gods watching over the planet, and the telegram is sending a message to the card recipient.

One more day of previews and then these will be available with release day being January 20 - we hope you're enjoying the mythical fun.

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus Y23, Y21, Y00, E29, E18, E17, E15, E13, YG67, YG17, W3, W2, W1, W00

Tickled Pink Stamps Preview - Lil Greek Gods Lolita Orpheus Kellita

Today is Day FOUR of six previews for the new Gods and Goddesses collection from Tickled Pink Stamps - so if you haven't seen the first 3 new images hop on over to our BLOG and check them out - and see how to enter for a chance to win one for yourself too!

Today we are introducing you to Lil Greek Gods Lolita Orpheus Kellita. I decided to use her to decorate a notebook fit for any Domestic Goddess - although my daughter had never heard of the term and kept laughing at me for using the expression. Famous Chef Nigella Lawson made the term popular - it describes a "household deity". I believe this is something ALL us wives and mothers can claim to be at times - and we all need to make notes or copy recipes at times to keep our status intact - LOL.

Release day is January 20th.

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, E08, W2, W1, W00, R89, R85, YG17, YG01, YG0000, YR23, YR00, YR000, Y19, Y11, Y08, Y0000

Emerald Faerie Garden Challenge #16 - Green and Gold/Yellow

It's been a week of first posts for 2012 here on my blog and here's another one for you - the first challenge for The Emerald Faerie Garden. Since the Faeries are Aussie based and we celebrate Australia Day on January 26th we've gone with a patriotic theme and are asking you to create something using the colours Green and Gold/Yellow.

I used Ally & Beeble for my card and tended more to the green tones - but the flower Ally is sitting on brings in a touch of gold.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT inspiration on our blog HERE and remember you have 2 weeks to play along.

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus YG67, YG63, YG61, YG03, YG0000, 100, C8, C6, R29, R27, R24, Y23, Y21, Y19, Y11, Y00, Y0000, E53, E50, E44, E43, E42, E41, E35, E33, E17, E15, E13, BG0000

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #129

This week over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we're asking you to colour an image in "Black and White". I haven't done this for a while so I had a lot of fun re-visiting this technique and realising how much I rely on using different colours to distinguish different areas rather than shading. I did cheat just a little by adding a very light blush to both Tilda and her sheepy friend's cheeks.

This week we are welcoming back our wonderful sponsor - Stampyland  - it's GREAT to have them join us again this year.

Don't forget to stop by our BLOG and check out all the inspiration on offer by the fabulous MDUC DT.

Copics used - 100, C8, C7, C6, C5, C4, C3, C2, C0, C00, R000

Make It Colourful - Blades of Grass

It's time for a new challenge over at Make it Colouful - our first for 2012 - and we're asking you to create "Blades of Grass". This means you need an outdoor scene to play with - unlike me who put together a water scene first - DOH - WHERE was I going to put GRASS - LOL.

I ended up creating this scene using 3 digi images from Make it Crafty - Sophie Day Dreaming, Sapphire Sitting Fairy and the Fairy Chair. The blades of grass were 'flicked' in using 4 different shades of green - starting with the lightest shade. I then 'grounded' the grass by adding some flecks of earth tones for dirt.

Don't forget to check out the AMAZING inspiration from the rest of the MiC DT over in our GALLERY - and you'll need to enter your grassy creation there too.

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus E50, E43, E42, E41, E40, E33, E18, E17, E15, E13, G28, YG67, YG63, YG61, RV63, RV55, RV10, RV000, B97, B95, B93, B91, B0000, C4, C2, C00, YR65, YR16, Y23, Y21, Y19, Y11, Y00, Y0000

Sorry

With Christmas, New Years and having everyone home for the Summer holidays it's been a tad difficult to find time to hide away in my craft room - but I've finally managed to get creative again! I thought a "Sorry" card would be an appropriate one to make seeing that I've been MIA for almost 2 weeks - AND I promised some candy soon too - I'm working on it!

Anyhow - on with my card - I've merged two images from Mo Manning - she manages to get such expressive faces on her characters. This is Guilty Bert and It's All in the Accessories - don't you just LOVE the expression on that pooch's face - he almost doesn't need the thought bubble - LOL.

Copics used - Skintones (R20, R11, E11, E00, E000) plus E53, E50, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, B97, B95, B93, B91, B000, BG0000, R29, R27, R24, C5, C4, C2, C1, C0, C00
