Mother's Day With Mo

I just thought I'd show you the card I made for my mum for Mother's Day - which we celebrate on the second Sunday in May here in Australia. When I saw these fabulous images from Mo Manning I just KNEW I would use them for my mum. Now I don't want to imply my mum is a bad cook - because she's not - it's just that she appreciates a bit of humour and isn't a flowery sort of woman. And just a piece of trivia - the name "Mo" is short for Maureen - which also happens to be my mum's name and my dad was the only one who ever called her Mo!

The images I've used are 'Imperfection' (available HERE) and 'Vintage Stove' (available HERE) - and I gave the stove the vintage enamelled look like my nan's old stove. These fabulous DPs from October Afternoon are perfect for the look I was going for. I merged my images together and then cut them out as one to pop up on my embossed panel.

I've used this week's fabulous Sketch Saturday sketch for my layout. The sentiment was printed off on my computer and was a mix of quotes I found surfing the internet. The red flowers and leaves were made using my Magnolia dies and the rolled flower was made using my MFT die.

I'm also entering this into Copic Oz's Challenge - Celebrate Women.

xXx

HA!! That's so me!! I burn quite a lot--mostly because I start something on the stove and then go check my emails, ;) LOL. My daughter has to invent something for a school project and she thought of a "stove cam" that runs to a monitor right next to my computer so I can see right into the pot on the stove from my 'puter. GENIOUS I tell you!! No don't go gettin' a patent on it or anything, LOL! kidding. AWESOME CARD!!
