Two Challenges in One!

I'm not known for managing to fit more than one challenge in a card - unlike some of my amazing blogging friends who sometimes fit in 4 or 5! Don't know how they do it!!! I managed to find time to put this card together today - I had coloured the image up a couple of days ago but have been organising a class for tomorrow ever since. It's a bit scary - am teaching folk art painting again - haven't done that in AGES!!! Had to find all my bits and pieces tucked away behind all the inks and CS that have overtaken my crafting space - LOL.

Ok - back to my card! Last weekend Mo Manning from Digital Pencil Too posted a challenge on her SNR Card Universe - to use this fabulous image! How tough is THAT!!!! Well I had her printed off in no time and had her all coloured up pretty soon after! While I was colouring her I kept thinking she reminded me of my daughter reading her school novels - she only has a few weeks of High School left before her final exams so she's started her revision by revisiting these books. I figured that meant this card qualified for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge that my friends Lisa and Kris help organise. Their 3rd challenge is "Back to School". Our Aussie kids are heading into the end of their school year but their US counterparts are just starting! My daughter has just entered her university preferences for next year - so this particular sentiment from SUs In The Stars just fit beautifully. I really hope all her dreams DO come true!

I hope all your dreams come true too.

xXx

Debbie this card makes me want to start up the fireplace to get cozy especially on this crisp morning. I love fall and nesting and this puts me in the mood. It seems so funny to think you are now going into spring. I remember when I felt bad for you a few months back when you were entering winter now I feel envy! LOL! Have a great day! Hugs ~Donna

Yay, Debbie!!! I'm so happy you played in our challenge this week... and what an amazing card! I just love Mo's images, and this is a must-have. I spent HOURS as a child reading... and likewise as an adult (until paper crafting took over my life!). I don't profess to understand how your school system works and all that's to come, but I know it's serious business for your daughter, and I'm sending lots of power thoughts and good wishes to her across the miles. Surely your card will prove inspirational...just your very presence and involvement is what every child needs.

Love and hugs always,
Lisa

WOW WOW WOW... first of all SUPER CUTE card! And secondly, seriously?! You have a daughter that's college age already?!! LOL - okay, YES, I had to be the one to point that out, heehee. They grow up way too fast don't they? Mine are in 4th and 5th grade this year, but I know before long they'll be graduating too! :*( Sniff sniff!

Well, I have a daughter who LOVEs to read books too. I think this is a wonderful card to give your DD. Best of wishes for their end of year exams. Thanks so much for playing in our SSC Challenge (and sorry it took me THIS LONG to get over here and leave a message!--OOPS!) LOL
Love and Hugs,
Kristine

P.S.
Did you get your swaps back yet?? ;P
