My First Card with Digital Stamps!

My 7 year old niece has recently begun horse riding and was proudly showing me all her ribbons and medals! The day after this my good friend Lisa over at The Craft's Meow posted this card made with the same digital stamp I've used here! I've shared many cyber chats and emails with Lisa about digital stamps and my worry over colouring and ink smudges. I was mainly a watercolorist then and thought my printer ink would bleed when wet - let alone the worry of how I was going to get watercolour paper to go through my printer.

This set of digital stamps has launched me into trying them though. This "Cowgirl Ava" stamp and a "Cowboy Ethan" stamp, and a couple of sentiments, have been designed by Pink Cat Studio to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They were designed to honour a gorgeous little boy called Ethan Weiman who passed away earlier this year at the age of 5, after a battle with neuroblastoma. The cowgirl gets her name from Ethan's sister. As Lisa said "Even if you don't stamp, you can still download, print and let your kids color these adorable pictures! Only US$6 for the entire set!". How could I resist - a fabulous cause to honour an amazing little boy - and then there was the fact I now had my first digi stamps to try!

I tried young Ava out first - I think I'll send her to my niece to let her know how proud I am of her achievements! I've enjoyed the challenge and have a couple of "freebies" to try out too. The possibilities when you can change the size to suit, or flip an image, is a lot of fun too!! It just means MORE computer time - nooooooo!! Although I must admit I still love the moment of inking up a stamp and stamping it off....

I am still scared, I like to be able to see it and ink it...but then again, I am always Leonie with the late news, I catch on after everyone else is over it! Love your card!

Great job with your first digital image Debbie what did you use to colour it?
I was asked to produce a couple of cards with the digi images and agree it's good to have the flexability with your computer - but!!!!!
Think I need more practice!!

Hey Debbie, I love your color scheme here and what a great cause! I use watercolor paper in my printer all the time and it does not run, smudge or anything. It's nice to be able to shrink and rotate the images also. This turned out adorable. Hugs, Dena

What a great job you've done with your first digi stamp! I was very nervous to begin with too. There's no way WC paper would go through my printer...but I find that the CS I use with my Copics is fine and the ink doesn't bleed as long as I let it dry for a couple of mins.
I'm sure your niece will just LOVE it ♥

Great job coloring this cutie!! I just recently purchased this set as well but watercoloring doesn't work with printer ink, so I have to use Photoshop to color it and then print them out. Just not the same, but maybe one of these days I'll get brave enough to post a card with it. :)

How cute is this!!! You are surely masterful at coloring, Debbie. I can take some lessons from your gorgeous work! And I'm so glad you dived in and tried digi images. It's still more fun to stamp, but some of these digis are just too cute to pass up, and so inexpensive. What did you end up doing? Is that water color paper or white cardstock? I don't see any smears, so whatever you did, it's a great success! I think you're pretty amazing. :-)

Love and hugs,
Lisa
