Keesh's Inspiration Challenge #9

Keesh's Inspiration Challenge certainly made me put my thinking cap on this week - I had several ideas floating around my head - none of which translated onto paper! It's soooo frustating when this happens because the reality can never measure up!!! Never mind - I actually don't mind the card I ended up with!

The inspiration picture brought to my mind the High Tea at the National Gallery that I'm going to in a couple of weeks. I'm going with a group of my closest girlfriends to celebrate a couple of birthdays within the group. We figured a High Tea would be more our style than a Pub Crawl - LOL. The colours are Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Purely Pomegranate. The Basic Black trim picks up the teapot colour.

I've stamped the cupcakes from Crazy for Cupcakes onto some SU DP and coloured them in with my SU markers. I tried to use my Touch markers but they bled outside the lines with the lightweight paper. The cakes were "iced" with my versamark pen and white embossing powder. The table of cupcakes has been "framed" in an embossed nestie oval to represent both the gallery we're going to, and the painting in the inspiration picture. And there's 6 cupcakes - one for each person invited! It's going to be a great afternoon I'm sure!

Hope you all have something to look forward to too.

xXx

Have fun at your High Tea. I'm assuming this is like a cafe that serves tea?
Well, your card is totally perfect for that challenge. Such great colors going on. Love the detail of the embossed frosting. Clever!
I totally forgot that you guys are on opposite seasons from us. Duh! I guess you are a bit chilly over there. Well, we are well into summer and this is one of the hottest ever! Check you later,

Your card is absolutely GORGEOUS Deb! It captures the essence of the inspiration pic perfectly! I just love the *frosting* on your cupcakes...I think I might be *borrowing* that idea myself :)
I hope you have a wonderful time at the High Tea...there's nothing like a lovely afternoon tea (or a morning tea for that matter!).

High tea sounds like such fun! I've never experienced such a thing, but I'd love to. Maybe someday...

Your card is truly wonderful! I love the design. And the cupcakes look good enough to eat. I also love those flowers with the pearl to finish things off beautifully.

We're back from AZ... arrived mid-afternoon. I felt like I'd been in an airplane rather than a car for 5 hours. The house is still standing, thank goodness. I think the boys are glad we're home. Back to work tomorrow. Yuck!

Love and hugs,
Lisa

Having seen this card "in the flesh". I can assure everyone that it is indeed amazing. As always your details are what set your cards apart from many others.

If high tea includes cup cakes like these, there'll be lots of dieting in Melbourne next week... just to fit them in!

LOVE this card!! You sure know how to add flowers to your cards so nicely.. and those cupcakes are looking very YUMMY! Enjoy your High Tea coming up with your girlfriends... VERY FUN! (But may be a Pub Crawl would too!) :) I experienced ONE tea party in my life and LOVED the cute tea cups and finger foods we shared.

PS: I totally understand "NONE of your ideas translated to paper"!! I've been having that happen lately! :)
