I started to browse through the Aurora Wings Store and chose for my inspiration Thumbelina :) This adorable Coffee Sprite fit the bill perfectly, and of course my love of coffee helped. I loved the stories of Thumbelina when I was a child, imagining what life would be like being that small. And then there were the 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' movies which opened up a new visual world for inquisitive minds.

Simply Betty Stamps' Summerween Ghost Bride

I recently used the 'normal' bride version of this image by  Simply Betty Stamps  and had her sitting in front of the window with a blazing sunset in the background, you can see her HERE. Today I'm using the Ghost Bride version with the same window and candle elements that I used on my previous card and went with an almost B&W theme. There are touches of green and yellow around the moon, in her eyes, veil and earrings, and in the roses.I love the fantastically eerie feel these touches of colour bring to the B&W setting.

Aurora Wings Challenge #67

It's time for a new challenge at Aurora Wings and it's a little bit special as we're celebrating....

For my card I'm using the gorgeous Mermaid and her Baby. This is a 2-piece set with a full length version of the mermaid plus the portrait version which I have used here. I did start out planning a more gender neutral card but think it's more for a Baby Boy now - one of the joys of the way I craft is watching things evolve,even if I begin with a plan ;)

More Summerween Fun with Simply Betty Stamps

It's time for me to showcase another of the fabulous Summerween images from Simply Betty Stamps. This one is called Beloved Husband. I did try to link the image to the store but couldn't find it so it may not be up yet, please email Betty at simplyb10@aol.com if you're interested in finding out when it will be available.

I decided to pop the husband's statue image onto a popped up circle with some B&W foliage and gravestone, but this image can be used in so many ways. The images also come with the wife sitting on a tombstone and the husband statue with an axe in his head if you wanted to create a darker style of card.

Summerween Kick Off - 13 Days of Fun

It's time for the Simply Betty Stamps Summerween kick-off party!

Betty will be having an event in May, all Halloweenie to mark the half way point till Halloween! We're kicking it off with 13 Gloomy days of Summerween and today is Day 1. The theme for today is ....

Brides! Brides! and More Brides!

This stunning image is simple called The Bride. She comes in 2 versions, the beautiful bride and the ghost bride. All of the elements are also included as a single image or as separates. Here I've used the beautiful bride, her window and the candelabra - you'll be seeing my ghost version soon ;)

I just LOVED using this window and in this version I coloured a sunset after being inspired by a sunset I recently saw out of my windows. I let the coloured images be the heroes and left the rest of the design bridal white.
