Anything Goes in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are playing with "Anything Goes". I had this little Paper Doll Marci sitting on my desk all coloured up so I put her to good use. I used a white sharpie paint pen to add the pattern detail onto her kimono - just a simple design but I love how it came out. The papers are all glittery and I used glitter washi tape too - this sparkles beautifully IRL.

Autumn Inspiration in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are working with Autumnal Colour and the inspiration picture on the right to create. I must confess I just read the Autumnal Colour part and happily coloured my Marci in those tones - and THEN went and realised that the picture had some slightly different tones in it. A mad look through my paper and flower stash ensued - I hope I've pulled it off, it is just for inspiration right?!?!?!?!

Aurora Wings Challenge #18

This week over at Aurora Wings Challenges we have an easy one for you.......

I've decorated a few Christmas candles in the past and my mum has always liked them so I thought I'd make an everyday one especially for her. For this candle I used Himalayan Blue Poppy, also available HERE.

For those of you unsure of how to stamp onto a candle here's a quick YouTube tutorial. I use the sort of tissue you use for packing - it has one slightly shiny side which works well with the markers as it doesn't absorb the ink and spread. You can't spend too much time blending though as the ink can start lifting....I hope you give it a try xXx

Something for the Girls in La-La Land

This is the Hello Molli whose hair I coloured for the La-La Land Crafts Blog Tutorial Thursday HERE. I decided to finish her off and use her on this card for a special friend's special birthday - I hope she likes it.

For the little sparkly dots I was going to use rhinestones - but the ones I had were either too light or too dark to fit with the gold glitter paper I had used which was frustrating. The answer was to pull out my trusty crop-a-dile and make my own sparkly dots :) You can't keep a crafter down when she has a project to finish....

Any Holiday in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are celebrating with Any Holiday we like. Being an Aussie we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, or even Halloween, but I do LOVE Christmas. My lovely friend Jenny Dix sent me this gorgeous Bo Bunny paper pad to play with and I just love this colour combo. I hope he doesn't drop all those presents! But being a professional elf I'm sure he has it sorted LOL.

Decorating the Corners in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are "Decorating the Corners". I decided to make my corners pop with lots of black and white. Making the centre smaller on the card also gives the corners more room to be decorated while not taking focus away from the main image. I hope you like it :)

Using Metal Embellishments in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are adding metal embellishments to our projects. I have a heap of gorgeous charms and couldn't decide which one to use so decided the more the merrier. I stucj the heart cur outs back into the heart banner to give a solid background for the charms and think it's turned out rather cute.

It's Back to School in La-La Land

Here in Australia we are almost 3/4 of the way through our school year so I always find doing "Back to School" cards in August a little strange. I thought Telephone Marci looked a little like she was wearing a uniform and just maybe she doesn't have her own mobile/cell phone to sms her friends straight after school for a chat, I know - unheard of right, LOL.
