Before I talk about this card I'd like to thank everyone for their sweet comments on my last card - I had a bad day that day - you should have seen my workspace - Tildas and paper EVERYWHERE - LOL!!! I think I was just sooo frustrated by the end of it - but I'm glad I finally produced something you liked!
I have also been asked about the swirls and leaves I use - the swirls are a sizzix die and the leaves are McGill punches - email me if you want further info!
Now onto today's card...
Last week we were looking through my stash of cards for a male card - hmmmm - not many there!! I thought this colour challenge from Anya Ink would be the perfect combo to use to start building a collection! I only recently bought this Ian from The Stamp Spot and have been eager to ink him up - he's perfect for the guys in your life!
After I had him all carded up I kept looking at the bare top left corner - if this was a girl's card I would have popped a flower or 2 there - but I was at a loss for what to use for a guy! I decided on leaving it bare as everything I tried just didn't work. Maybe guy's cards need to be simpler - I would appreciate any opinions on this!!!
I do remember one of the senior SU demos telling us at Convention last year that brads are always a good embellishment for male cards - after all - the name BRAD is male so it's kind of a hint - LOL. Maybe that's why roses are great on female cards!!
Here's hoping everyone has a FANTASTIC week - it's certainly starting to feel like Summer is on the way here in Melbourne!!! I am soo NOT a hot weather girl!!!

Good Morning Debbie, it is just perfect, just love the colouring on his shirt, love the Hey Dude, looks raised, is it embossing or do you have some fancy stickers! Not looking forward to the heat this week either, take careX:)
Oh Debbie first of all this is a great male card. I always struggle with the male cards too and can never find the perfect embellishments to go with them. Thanks for joining the Anya Ink challenge this week.
As for Mojo - hmmmm apart from things I am pretty passionate about I just can't get things right either. I am struggling with most things. Don't know what it is. Hope your mojo comes back soon.

WOW! stunning male card, I love it and personally I dont think it needs anything up in the corner, just spot on as it is.
Oh WOW this is fab,the colours are so striking and just pop!!! Love it!! I don't think you could lose your mojo,I always love what you make!!
xx
Oh Debbie, I love it! The way you coloured his shirt is fantastic, and as for the bare corner, I did not even notice it until you pointed it out. When I make anything male I always feel it is missing something because you can't really dress it up with flowers and ribbons. I'm addicted to embelishment :)
Fabulous male card Debbie. That corner is fine. I would have put flowers etc there for a female card, like you, but for a male, nup, leave it blank I reckon.
Fantastic Debbie! Love this boy card.
Thanks for participating in this weeks Anya Ink.
What a fantastic Guy card!!! Such a cute image.. Love the colors..
Hugs Linda
Actually I think it looks perfect without anything. Sometimes minimal is better, especially on boy cards. I always seem to go for stars though if it just needs a little something. The image is so "cool", very boy. Love everything about it!
Tagged you, you have an award on my blog!
Hugs, Dena
I vote for the less-is-enough look for male cards... that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! I had the same dilemma with my card for the SSCC challenge, which I still don't like, but it's all I could come up with in a pinch. Now, of course, I can think of lots of things I SHOULD have done. I need to let it go and move on!
I think your card is perfect. I'm constantly in awe of your amazing water coloring. Can you give me some lessons?
I don't envy you the heat. It's spring, some days bordering on summer, weather here in So Cal. No autumn weather in sight. Where is El Nino???? I shouldn't complain about spring temps, but my fall wardrobe is looking sadly neglected, and my summery things are worn out!
Warm hugs and lots of love across the miles,
Lisa
P.S. I had dinner at my Australian friend's house last night. She is the consummate hostess. Born and raised in Broken Hill. Do you know it?
This is so cool Debbie, you have dine an awesome job as you always do, love the colouring in too, just everything.
hugs

Debbie, I am loving these colours & your skills colouring/shading his jeans & shirt are wonderful. A perfect Boy card, your design, image & colouring are all so perfect, it truly shines & does not need anything more.
Hugs Jodie from Oz
Wow! What a great guy card Debbie! I do think that simpler is better for guys anyway. You did an awesome job of coloring this dude! I love the paper you used to back your image and that great tiled paper piece. I wouldn't change a thing or add anything more to it. It's perfect!
Nope, this one covers mens cards perfectly ... less is more on a man card.
Thanks for playing along Deb!
:) Marcia
Don't worry!I too have days like that.
Stash all around and nothing is getting the way I want!
For this card I have only good words!
I'm not fan of making mail cards.
However you made this one just perfect!
Great colors!
Hugs!
Sandra!
What a fantastic male card. I love the way you have framed him. The colouring is great - love the clothes. With guys cards I agree simple is better, this card needs nothing more to it.

hey Debbie, you were funny in this post :) I looked at the card as I read your dilema and I think it is perfect just as is. Sometimes empty spce is a focal point in itself and needs nothing more.Plus the design of the paper gives it depth and weight. I love it! LOL but just my opinion you are the artist here! Have a great day! Hugs~Donna
What a fantastic male card Debbie!! I don't have many in my stash either!! Great colors and coloring!! That dp is perfect! Simpler is better for masculine cards which is why they are so difficult for me.

Wow this is amazing. I love it! Good luck
Wow, amazing! Your coloring is absolutely wonderful! Great job and thanks for joining us at Anya Ink ;-)
Debbie, this is a great image for a guy card. I don't do orange very often, but I love what you did with it here. Male cards are definitely harder to create, but this one is a bell ringer!
Wow, another great card. TFS!
I love this card.. The colouring is as always great. Dont think it needs anything in the corner at all. I am in Melbourne too and I hate this weather as well bring back spring please! Bron xo
This one is just too cool for school!
Debbie,
You are such a sweetie, I've been away for a while just taking it easy and first sign of me and you leave a comment...thank you.
This card is so cute and your colouring on this and some of your more recent cards is outstanding!
Paula :)
