Christmas Stocking Swap with Simply Betty Stamps

Over at Simply Betty Stamps we were given this gorgeous image called Stocking Elf to create a card with and to send to a swap partner along with some Christmas goodies. To make it even more fun we had a Christmas stocking/sock theme, sending something sock or stocking related to our swap partner as part of the gift. And now we're having a big BLOG HOP reveal everyone's cards - I hope you like mine.

First Cup Cassandra

Check out this gorgeous new image from Simply Betty Stamps called First Cup Cassandra. I just loved colouring her up - that gorgeous up do was so much fun to shade. Little Rudolph

Eeeeek I just love Christmas, especially with all of the gorgeous images that seem to jump into my shopping basket!!!! This adorably quirky little guy is Little Rudolph by Bloobel Stamps, he just puts a smile on your face when you see him :)

My card is unusually CAS for me but this guy needed to be the star of the show, a simple layered Make it Crafty chipboard sentiment coloured up, a snowfall embossed background and some festive washi tape was all I needed. Hope you love him as much as I do.

The Cutest Reindeer Around

Check out this adorable new Sprite from Aurora Wings - this is Reindeer Sprite and seriously could he GET any cuter?!?!?!?! I just couldn't help myself, he NEEDED to be coloured up and popped onto a card. I cut my card shape using my Cameo, I just love that machine. The edges of the card also have star dust Stickles on to add some more Christmas cheer.

Aurora Wings Challenge #61

It's time for another challenge from Aurora Wings and this time we're using...

I decided to use the adorable Christmas Chihuahuas and mixed in some gold metallic paint, gold metallic glitter embossing and gold metallic card to cover the brief. It's a bit sad that the gold paint doesn't show it's rich glow so well in the main photo but you can see it a little better in the close up.

As soon as I saw Betty's Gingerbread House from Simply Betty Stamps I knew I wanted to play with my chibitronic LEDs again and give it a light up window....those elves have orders to get done for Christmas and now there's no 'low light' excuses.

Challenge me a Christmas Card - with Michelle Lupton & Friends

My friend Michelle Lupton is running a Christmas card challenge with friends and today I am playing along with her. Our challenge today is "Deck the Halls", you can check out Michelle's card for the challenge HERE.

I chose this gorgeous image from Teddy Bo to use because to me "decking the halls" is all about decorating the house up for Santa's visit, so I felt this image fit the bill. I also added some "boughs of holly"to the top corner as per the line in the Christmas carol. Sadly the Teddy Bo shop has shut down but I love the images I have and will keep playing with them.

Just for a bit of fun I also decided to experiment with my new chibitronics LED light up system to add a "glow" in the fireplace. The large sparklet acts as the switch to light up the LED when it's pressed.

Halloween Mug Swap Reveal Day & Blog Hop

It's time for the reveal of the Halloween Mug Swap organised by Betty from Simply Betty Stamps. We were given this fabulous digi called Witchy Brew to create a card to send to our swap partner. We were also asked to send along a Halloween themed mug and some other Halloween goodies. This is the card and mug I sent to my swap partner Lea Wilkin.

I created the decal on the mug using water slide transfer paper and this tutorial. I checked with Betty BEFORE doing this as I needed to check that it didn't go against her TOU. It's always a good idea to do this with these sort of techniques. I finished off with some glitter silver vinyl lettering I cut using my silhouette to personalise the mug. 

And below is the absolutely GORGEOUS card and mug I received from Lea and I want to thank her publicly for my fabulous parcel. I'm not going to show the goodies than came along with it as I don't want to make anyone jealous :) , although the 2 little rats were a fun part of the parcel, making me jump as they flew out of the pack as I was unwrapping it LOL.

Colour-Ween Fun for Simply Betty Stamps

Welcome to the second of my 2 cards for Simply Betty's Colour-Ween event for Halloween which is running throughout October. Betty created a set of 12 gorgeous Halloween images and then set a colour scheme for each one for the DT to follow. This is Monster Mouse and he's supposed to feature BLUE. The background paper is a digi paper but is sadly no longer available. The spider and leaf dies are from La-La Land Crafts.

A Tartan Wedding

I made this card for a cousin's wedding in The UK and I can finally show it to you as i know they've received it. The groom is Scottish and his family tartan was going to appear prominently in the wedding so I wanted to incorporate it in their card. I used a photo of his kilt and printed it out to create the background paper. I also printed a small version of it so I could cut out a "kilt" and layer it onto my image over the original suit pants lines. Colouring the lower leg of the pants in skintones adds to the illusion he's wearing a kilt - thank goodness most of his legs are hidden behind the dress. 

I used a Kaisercraft embossing folder on the white circle - it's called "Stone" but in this context I actually think it looks a bit like confetti fluttering around the newlyweds:)

The image is Geeky Love Getting Married from Make it Crafty - there's a whole series of these fabulous characters covering many of life's memorable moments.

Fa La La with Bloobel Stamps

Just for fun I coloured up this cutie and created a simple Christmas card. The image is called Yay for Christmas and is from Bloobel Stamps. The striped background pattern in the cut out was created using a selection of washi and glitter tapes, they added just the right quirky finish.

Christmas is Coming aROUND again!!!!

I printed off this AMAZING Santa Mandalooney from Bloobel Stamps before Christmas LAST YEAR and I was determined to have it coloured up and on a card by this Christmas - mission accomplished :)

It was interesting to have to colour up the same image 5 times, I was really aware of making sure they all looked alike. It was so much fun to do. And lastly I must apologise for my pun in this post's title - I couldn't help myself LOL
