Aurora Wings Challenge #25

Our latest challenge over at Aurora Wings is an easy one.....

Oh and did you notice - it's our SECOND ANNIVERSARY too - woohoooo.
Congratulations to Mitzi and the other amazing gals on the DT.

Now I'm not known for doing Scrapbook pages - and truth be told all that space on a 12x12 sheet scares me a little! BUT a friend of my daughter's recently posted this photo of her at Camden Market in London and it got my mind moving into the realm of scrapbooking and I KNEW it would awesome paired with the Steampunk Owl.

I made the owl REALLY BIG and cut it out with my Cameo. The way I do my print and cuts the cameo leaves a white border around the image so to tie it in better with my layout I coloured the border in using a black marker and loved the end result!!! It's hard to see but there are blue and violet tones in the photo, so I made sure to incorporate those colours in both my colouring and embellishments to give everything a lift.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the AMAZING DT inspiration on our BLOGWe also have a very active Facebook Fan Group with additional contests, challenges and inspiration.  We hope to see you there.

Copics Used - 100,  W5, W3, W1, C4, C2, C0, C00, E33, E31, V25, V23, V17, V0000, B14, B02

No WONDER you wanted to do a layout, Debbie! That pic of your daughter is FABULOUS and you're right, just perfect for Steampunk Owl. Amazing coloring of the image and that black border makes him POP! I did notice the blues and violets in the photo and your embellies bring out those hues perfectly. My only disappointment is she didn't buy those glasses. LOL xxD

I just love this scrapbook page project, Debbie! The coloring on the Steampunk Owl is GORGEOUS! Who knew touches of blues and purples would look so beautiful on browns and golds? I also love the dark border around the owl image that helps him pop. This has to be one of the most elegant stampunk design I've seen with the earth toned papers, metal gears (must have!), lacy border and flowers adding just enough color! It's truly EXQUISITE! Thank you for creating a fabulous inspiration for our latest challenge at Aurora Wings! Mitzi xxx
