A Family Christmas Portrait

A few weeks ago my lovely friend Lori Boyd from By LORi Designs sent me some of her gorgeous images to have a play with. I merged 3 of them together to create a family "Christmas portrait". These guys were so much fun to colour up. I usually don't have time to colour up images that aren't from the DTs I'm on but I really must try and do it more often.

The sentiment I used is from The Craft's Meow's Season's Greetings set.

Taste of Winter

This little cutie is Taste of Winter by Mo Manning. With the stinking hot weather we had last week here in Melbourne I decided to get lost a little Winter scene and try and pretend I was cool - it didn't work - LOL.

It looks like a storm may be brewing with that dark sky and a few flakes of snow starting to fall - I don't usually colour my backgrounds but it was fun for a change. I added in some punched snowflakes as well as the printed ones for extra interest.

Copics Used - Skin (E21, E11, E000, R20) plus E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, C4, C00, B06, B05, B02, B00, B000, B0000, Y28, Y26, Y13

I really wanted to make something for boys this time - so I headed for Make it Crafty's Urban Scene Digi's to get some inspiration for my shadow box. Paper Piecing in La La Land

This week in La La Land we are paper piecing. La La Land images are perfect to paper piece as they have large areas to work with. I chose 3 different patterns from one of my paper pads and used them for Marci's outfit as well as for the background. I also used the papers for the rolled roses and faux buttons so everything ties together well.

As well as our BLOG where you can check out inspiration from my amazing teamies, La La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La La Land Stamps and Dies too.

Star Topper for the Tree

With Christmas just around the corner I thought how cute would it be to colour up this little guy and have him reaching up to put the star on top of the tree. It's always been a tradition in my home for one of my kids to add the decoration of choice to the top of the tree - even if we had to lift them up and help - although it's been a few years since we've had to do that - LOL.

This little cutie is called Hanging the Star by Mo Manning. I've also used the French Window die from Poppystamps and the Christmas Tree die from La La Land Crafts to help complete my little scene.

Another Baby Onesie Card

Recently I made THIS card for my daughter's boss and one of the girls my daughter worked for asked if I could make something similar for a friend of hers - another non-gender specific card. Yellow is always a safe option when you can't use pink or blue and I paired it with Kraft and white - a lovely fresh colour combo. This time around I chose the gorgeous Butterfly Baby from Saturated Canary to colour up.

Once again the card was cut using my Cameo - I LOVE this machine!!!!

Giving Thanks in La La Land

With it being Thanksgiving in America the team at La La Land are joining in the fun and "Giving Thanx". I cut my card out using my Cameo - the words are attached to the top of the front and the cream card behind is on the inside of the card. I used Websters DP on the front - it almost doesn't need any embellishing but I do love the texture of adding flowers and bling.

As well as our BLOG where you can check out inspiration from my amazing teamies, La La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La La Land Stamps and Dies too.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #173

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges it's "All About Books". My mojo has been sadly lacking over the past few days since being sick, with projects taking me significantly longer than usual to put together so I like the way they look. But late last week my good friend Deb Adams sent me the link to an AMAZING tutorial to make a little book basically out of scraps. I have long been a follower of Amy from Stampin'Stuff and was surprised I'd missed this little gem but soo glad Deb let me know about it!

I had NO IDEA what I was going to create for this week's challenge but late Friday night I decided I was so excited about this tutorial that I wanted to see if I could get it done! Shame I had to take my son to tennis comp on Saturday morning!!!!! I did take a few short-cuts on this to get it done - not letting the glue or tea-stained pages drying properly for example - LOL - but am loving how it turned out and am feeling those creative juices flowing again! The spine of this is half a toilet roll tube cut lengthwise to give you an idea of size. I used some offcut microfibre suede to cover the outside but brown cardstock in place of fabric on the inside as the fabric took too long to glue down.

Amy uses album binders to hold her pages together - but with no time to go shopping I had to improvise and used some twine to tie everything together - after discovering glue alone just wasn't going to cut it! The holes are all there when I get a chance to change them over though!

Don't forget to check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the fabulous MDUC DT on our blog HERE.
