Winter Wishes in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are sending Winter Wishes. I decided to create a cute little gift box and tag. I used the Cameo to cut the box from one of the Silhouette Store designs but I also added mats for the sides as I do love to mat my patterned papers! The side view to the left shows off the box a little more than the front view does - it's very much a take on a Christmas cracker style of box.

A Card with a Tutorial for La-La Land

Check out my Tutorial HERE for the corner pop up card I created for La-La Land. With a daughter who used to figure skate I love the idea of Marci skating in the forest with only the reindeer to watch her, such a peaceful thought.

It's Spooktacular in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land it's all about being Spooktacular! I found this fancy picture frame at an Op Shop/Thrift Store and decided to alter it with some spooktacular elements for Halloween. I sat Witch Marci and the patterned background behind the glass before having some fun with die-cuts and fabric. I think this may be sitting on my mantel over the Halloween period ;)

Aurora Wings Challenge #38

It's time for a new challenge over at Aurora Wings and this time it's....

I bought this set of MDF coasters from Kaisecraft a while ago and thought they would look adorable with a different Sprite on each on for my Christmas table. You can find Mitzi's adorable little characters in her Etsy store HERE or in her store HERE.

I worked out the size for each before creating a background using digital papers and overlaying my sprites on before printing and colouring up. There is a bit of festive sparkle on each one and a peek of gold a gold doily around the edges. I then sealed the coaster top before spraying with a Triple thick glaze to make the surface more durable. I love that these stack nicely into a base....the only thing left to do is to pop some felt dots on the bottom to protect any surface they go on.

Photo Inspiration in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are using the picture to the left for inspiration. I love the colour palette in this one - it's sort of a sophisticated vintage theme. I also noticed with the muted tones there were touches of green - and with green being my favourite colour my project ended up with more that just a few touches - the joys of being inspired by, but not tied to a concept.

Ribbons in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are using ribbon on our projects. I decided to do something a little different and cut a stitched circle out of a piece of firm card before weaving some lengths of thin white ribbon in behind it. I popped this panel up so the shadows give it some added dimension and added some white die cuts, some silver rhinestones and a cute Marci.

Polka Dots in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are creating with Polka Dots. I used a gorgeously spotty digital paper and printed it at a smaller scale for paper piecing her dress, and then at it's normal scale for the background. I love being able to scale digital papers to suit the part of the project I'm using it for - and yet it still all ties in together in the final design.
