Think Pink in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are Thinking PINK. I just love this new Marci from La-La Land and in her white spotted dress and pink hair I think she's looking fresh and lovely. I also love the look of the diamond wire behind the squares - it keeps the whole design open and light.

A Little Something From Simply Betty Stamps

I got to have a play this week with this gorgeous image from Simply Betty Stamps. This is Gabrielle and she comes four different ways and I decided to use the individual Gabrielle image and the detached wings so I could pop them up at different levels.

I coloured the wings, skirt and belt in using the same colours and then coated them with clear Wink of Stella. The photo just doesn't do the look of this justice - it's such an elegant way to add some sparkle. The dies I've used on the card are from La-La Land Crafts.

Aurora Wings Challenge #23

This week over at Aurora Wings Challenges we are having an awful lot of fun with the cutest little images in Mitzi's collection with our theme for this month being......

And to add to the fun Mitzi is kindly offering this adorable freebie called Pineapple Sprite to the participating crafters of this challenge (Challenge 23 "Sprite Delight III") - an extra reason to come along and play this month!

For my first card I used the beautiful Spiderwort Sprite and oversized her into a frame. After colouring I die cut a sentiment out and stacked it onto about 6 more die cut sentiments in white to make it pop up. This look is scary the first time you die cut into a coloured image, and can be fiddly - but I really love the end result.

And for my second card I decided to create a pair to my original card using the gorgeous little freebie on offer - I hope you like her....The sentiment is done in the same way but it's a little harder to see here because I took the photo straight on.

Make it Colourful Challenge - Transparency

I haven't had a chance to play along with a Make it Colouful Challenge in far too long...but for some reason I not only had some time but I also had an idea!!!!

I've used the gorgeous digi April from Make it Crafty for this transparency challenge. I love her beautiful eyes and thought it would be fabulous to enlarge one through a "magnifying glass". A little but of merging of a large image over the top of a smaller one and some additional graphics and out came my copics.

I do admit that I was a little bummed that my paint marker wasn't playing nice for the reflection highlights but hopefully you get the idea. Sad to say this was the 3rd attempt to get it looking anywhere near reasonable :( I can see a new paint pen in my future!!!! But hey - at least I gave it a go :)
