A Saturated Canary Baby Card

I thought I'd show you the other baby card I made to send off to England. This one uses the gorgeous Saturated Canary New Baby image. I also added some dimensional elements with crafter's clay baby feet and sentiment. The sentiment was made using Martha Stewart's alphabet mould and the baby feet were made using a cake decorating mould I have in my stash - they are sooo CUTE!!!!

Since the baby's sex is unknown at this stage I really wanted to keep it neutral and found it was heading a bit towards the baby blue end...so I tried to make the yellow feature more strongly :)

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #228

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we have an interesting one for you....

Use doohickey dies only - no images!

I've used five different dies here. I had planned to create a white on white card but then added a few touches of Kraft and even a bit of green - LOL. It's a fairly simple card but with frantage embossing, dry embossing and crafter's clay letters there is a lot of texture going on. It's something a bit different from me but I hope you like it.

Don't forget to pop over the the MDUC blog and check out the rest of the DT inspiration - and there will be more DT inspiration next week too.

It's Sketch Time in La-La Land

This week in La-La Land we are creating to a sketch designed by ME - see left. You may not be able to see the left panel easily but it is there - hiding behind Marci. Apart from the lace and rhinestones this is pretty much an all La-La Land creation - the digi paper, stamp, sentiment and dies are all from La-La Land Crafts. I LOVE how these products work together.

And here you may be able to see the glint of the Sakura gold gelly roll pen - it really adds a lovely touch of metallic sparkle to the image. I also added some Crystal Effects to Marci's glasses to make the lenses.

Don't forget to pop over to our BLOG where you can check out inspiration from my amazing teamies and remember La La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La La Land Stamps and Dies too.

Rite of Spring

I had so much fun colouring up THIS card that I thought I would give another Aurora Wings digi a go. This is Rite of Spring. I only bought 2 images to start with and have done them both now....guess I have some more shopping to do LOL

I have to say you don't realise how much detail there is in these until you start to colour...but that's also the fun part! I had thought my new reading glasses would help with this but unfortunately it's shown me the prescription needs a tweak - luckily they are new so this can be done free - a win!!!!

Apologies but I don't have my copics listed for this - it was done over several days and used quite a number of pens and just seemed too much like hard work for all the fun I was having - LOL.

A Dragon Baby Card in a Box

Recently my London based daughter asked me to create a couple of baby cards for an expectant family member in the UK. This was the first of the 2 cards and my daughter specifically requested this cute image - she remembered him from when I worked with Spesch Stamps - his name is Draggy. This is one of the very first Sylia Zet (now Wee Stamps) digis I owned!

I have recently discovered this Card in a Box fold and LOVE them - they have such depth and are such fun with the acetate strips letting butterflies and sentiments flutter in the breeze.
They are designed to fold down flat for postage and there is room on the back panel for a personal message too - or you could pop one under one of the fold down flaps. I hope the new parents like it :)
All of the dies used in my project are from La-La Land Crafts.

I Gave Myself a Colouring Challenge!

Have you ever seen a digi image and gone WOW - well I saw some gorgeous images from Aurora Wings recently and decided it was time to hunt them down and try colouring one up. It's always nice to try working on something a little different even if I did wonder if I had bitten off a bit too much halfway through - LOL. With so much going on I really had to concentrate on giving each element it's unique place in the scene without letting them merge together. The lines were there I just had to make sure the colour kept it's side of the bargain.

This beauty is Girl with Pansy - isn't she FABULOUS! After she was all coloured I added some sparkle to her eyelids with a Sakura glitter gel pen. I also applied some to my finger tip and added a light shine to her cheeks. The butterfly got a touch of clear spica over it's wings. The dots I did using liquid pearls and her ear-rings are purple rhiinestones. I love the resulting shimmer in different lights - it's a shame that can't be captured in a photo.

All Stitched Up in La-La Land

After all the excitement of the CHA release it's back to business for the La-La Land DT with our weekly inspiration posts. This week we are "All Stitched Up" and using either faux or fake stitching on our cards. I used one of the gorgeous new CHA images and popped him onto a patchwork background which I stitched together with gold filament thread. I also stitched around the border in the same way.

Don't forget to pop over to our BLOG where you can check out inspiration from my amazing teamies and remember La La Land Crafts also have a Facebook Page HERE and La La Lands Facebook Group HERE. We love seeing your amazing creations using La La Land Stamps and Dies too.

Mama and Me

I have several Saturated Canary images hiding away on my computer and finally found a little bit of time to play with a couple. I've had the gorgeous Blanche for a while - she's perfect for cards for mature women. But when I saw Double Take I thought they would work together beautifully.

Whether it's because my daughter has moved across the world to England, or because I wish I had Blanche's waist (LOL) I saw these 2 as a mother and daughter heading off to a party together and caught in a snap shot before they left. I'm a brunette and my daughter is a blonde so I used those colour tones for my characters. This was such a lot of fun to do - hope you like it...

And know I'm missing you gorgeous Sarah Pamment.....you are even haunting my crafting now - LOL

EDIT - please note Double Take will be discontinued from January 25th.

Wee Stamps Wedding Card

I've had a lovely break over the Christmas period - I even managed to tidy up and find my crafting desk again. There is still much to organise in my craftroom but it was a joy to create in a space that was more than 5"x 5" square for a change - LOL.

I think it's quite apt that I'm starting off the New Year with a wedding card. Weddings are all about new beginnings after all. This one was requested by my daughter for relatives. She's currently living in London with family and I was only too happy to make her a card for the wedding coming up in the extended family there. The gorgeous image is from Wee Stamps and is called Love Me Do. The DP is designed by my friend Denise Boddey and is available from Meg's Garden - this is the Romantic Garden paper pack.

I have a lot of digital stamps I have collected but I rarely get a chance to play with ones outside of my DT commitments - so it was a LOT of fun colouring these cuties up for a change. It was also nice to be asked by my family to create something special - it gets quite frustrating when I'm out with my sister and she says she needs to BUY a card for someone....she forgets to ask me if I have anything suitable in the boxloads I have at home - LOL.

Copics Used - Skin {E11, E00, E000, R20, R11} plus B0000, V000, E53, E49, E47, E44, E39, 100, C8, C6, C5, C4, C2, C0, YG45, YG25, YG21, Y19, R59, R24
